best/cheapest place to get brakes done

kind of a regional thing i guess - but any big names that have worked out for some better than others? or maybe there are coupons somewhere?

I don't think "cheapest" would be my first criteria when looking for a brake job. Anyway, you're best bet is often a locally owned shop. They usually do good work at a fair price. The dealers typically charge too much, and the big chains just don't care enough about their work for my taste.
