Bestbuy now has a HD DVD Action Center

If you bought a HD DVD player from Bestbuy between November 2006 ~ February 23, 2008, you can get a free $50 gift card to use at Bestbuy.

Works with Toshiba HD DVD players and Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD players.

Guess this is good for anyone who got in on the 360 HD DVD player with Heroes and 2 other movies for free.

Well, they didn't have to offer this gift card at all... You should look at it that way.

I agree with that completely! I'm excited to get a gift card I didn't even expect! We all knew we were early adopters when we bought them. Besides, I wouldn't want to return mine anyway -- I have at least 10-12 HDDVDs I've purchased and there will undoubtedly be a ton of HDDVDs on clearance very soon. Plus, if you use your 360 as a DVD player, you can still use this drive instead of the built-in drive. Given the plethora of problems the 360 has, why use the built-in drive for games AND movies when you can use the external for movies and preserve the motor of the integrated one for games?

For those of you who did NOT but your HD DVD player from Best Buy... I noticed it said "Good news (even if you didn't buy from us) ... Beginning March 21, visit BestBuyTradeIn.com to get an instant estimate of the value of your HD DVD player and movies. "

Well, today's the day. They added HD DVD player to the list. My HD-A2 is given a ETV of $44.00. If I add 2 discs, $50.00; 6 discs, $62.00.

Not bad considering I only paid $100. So here's my plan:

1. Exchange HD DVD player (with a few lame discs) for $50-$60
2. Win a Best Buy gift card off eBay for 10%-15% off face value.
3. Wait for a 12% off coupon.
4. Use my Best Buy credit card to get 4% off

How does that sound? :convinced:

Maybe this should be a new deal? ;)
