Holy Shikes!!! I am soo happy (yes simple things make me happy)

This is what Officemax offers:
Verbatim USB STORE N GO DRIVE - 128MB
or the
Lexar 128mb USB Jumpdrive
for $9.99 (in store only)

In the store ad they have a pic of the Lexar Jumpdrive.

I know that it's already is a hell of a deal, but I took it a step further. Staples offers a 110% pricematch guarantee, so I printed out the ad and went to the store. At first they gave me a hard time because they only carry the item online, but after a little haggling, they broke and said ok. (mostly because I had a copy of their policy and no where did it say that it had to be in store)There is a kicker though, like officemax, its only one per customer. Also they might call OfficeMax to see if they still have it in stock. (if they give you problems, point to the policy and ask them to show you where it says they have to have it in stock) ;)

Here you do:
Check to see if they have it in stock, if not then goto their computer in the store and order the Lexar 128MB Jumpdrive (Item# 568019) online. You have an option to pay now or pay at the desk. Choose pay at the desk. Then take the flyer
click here and show it to the person at the desk.
They should pricematch it!
Staples Price 49.99
Officemax’s price 9.99
the Diference 39.99
X 110% 43.99
Total you pay is (49.99 – 43.99) = 5.99 +tax and its FREE shipping.

good luck!!

Wow, I know getting a great deal is good news and all, but why not just pay the extra couple of dollars and leave the store without a fight? Personally, I would rather pay someone an extra 3 or 4 bucks instead of arguing with a sales clerk. Just my opinion...

excuse me

I just assumed that others might enjoy the little extra savings. Didn't mean to offend u.
In my opinion, this pricematch doesn't break any rules with staples policy and followes it to a tee. You may see it as an arguement with the clerk (which it really wasn't when I pointed out the policy), but I see it as something that follows what they state in the policy:
"[we pricematch] Almost everything we sell. The item must be identical, including model number, components and U.S. warranty. For wireless phones and other items with a service plan, the plan, provider, and other terms must be the same."...which it was
(whats the point of using a 50cent coupon to save money?...because its money)
Also, what's the difference from this pricematch vs previous ones listed on spoofee to try to pricematch CircuitCity to Sams Club with the arguement that even though Sams Club is a wholesaler, CC pricematches with BJ's? (this example was for a harddrive)

Personally I like lexmark's styling better.

I bought 3 Verbatim jump drives at 1 Office Max store and they would have sold me the whole lot. Either they didnt know what they were doing or the "1 per customer" deal is bogus.

Gronghi is RIGHT ON...these corps are merciless to their employees and are greedy predatory machines when it comes to business...so, why NOT use their own policies to save some money?--besides its legal--I feel no sympathy for these corporate machines.
Hey 6 months ago Circus City laid off 3900 of their top salespeople because they said they would not allow any salesman to make over $36K/year. "Haggling" is just because the sales clerk doesnt even have enough smarts to even know their own policy--so you have to help these clowns overcome their own ignorance. If STAPLES or any other retailer didnt want to price match then why wouldnt publish this policy (their lawyers write the policy anyway)--no one held a gun to their held to write the pricematch policy. Believe me, these guys are still making money on that Lexar drive...the drive was probably built in Thailand or Malaysia by a non english speaking peasant making 80 cents per hour in 105 humid degrees and it cost Lexar about 42 cents to make. No pity on poor STAPLES here. Go clean em out Gronghi! Im with ya gronghi! Go dude! Thanks for the tip.

PS-dont have any conscience with the retail corps--they ceretaintly have none for you.

Inquiring, thanks for that! :) From people's reaction to this "deal" I was starting to feel pathetic for trying to save 4 bucks! Its nice to know someone appreciates!
thanks

Not sure what is going on anymore with people these pst few days. Why is everyone so on guard to strike someone down, or complain about posts they personally feel are not proper or good enough. If no one posted anything becasue they felt that they would get flamed for what they posted, this place would be no more. If it is not for you, move on. You cannot please everyone here, even though I think we tend to try real hard.

Yea, sorry for going against people these last couple weeks, but, from my perspective, I never go for these risky pricematch deals, especially when I hear about the amount of effort required in convincing the sales associates that, even though they said no, you can get buy due to some technicality. I buy tons of things here that are listed here on spoofee, which is why I come here so often, but to those people who list instructions on dealing with disagreeing sales associates along with their listing...it just seems like finding a deal is becoming more and more synonymous with pissing off the people who work there.

Good find Gronghi, my apologies for disagreeing with your strategy, but, as I said, the deals in which people gotta fight along the way just aren't my style.

And to -Inquiring-, the corporate giants aren't trying to screw you: Most retail workers aren't doing it to make a living, its a part time job, so bringing up that they don't know their policies from front to back is kind of pointless, they shouldn't be expected to know everything when they're being paid such low salaries (as you mentioned). Be reasonable...

cheap

I just like cheap prices no matter what you have to do to get it

Now thats the attitude you have to have. :claps:

I agree!! the cheaper the better, no matter what the consequences!!

I got 3 Lexar 128 MB Drives for 9.99 each on Wednesday from an OM Store in Buffalo, NY without problems. Went into the store and asked for the drive and they brought the Lexar drives out of the stock room. It rang Up as 39.99, manager did an override using the option, "Ad Price Not in POS" and brought them down to 9.99 each. They had plenty more in stock. I am going to try to get a few More today.

Also, Pay By Cash

PAY BY CASH! Why? Because Staples = bad business practices.

I was not one of their victims and honestly I don't shop there because I think their prices are high compared to OM or OD, and not enough good AR or FAR deals.

If it turns out that they don't like the price match, because the price ends up being too low for the sale, and you pay by credit card, it's been known that they may make unauthorized charges to your account.

Buyer Beware!

What makes this different from any other PM'ing thread.

I know the deal is over…I just wanted to share the total savings that I got for this (as some would call) trivial pricematch:
10 Lexar 128 usb drives for $59.99 at Staples. (retail it would have been $399.9 to $499.9 at OfficeMax and Staples respectively)
if bought at OfficeMax at the sale price it would have been $99.99, but since it was at staples, I saved $40 more bucks!!!

Vin Diesel apologizes to you and you still got to get your last minute punches in.
