Black & Decker Lawn Hog Electric Mulching Mower for $189.99 Shipped

I can't imagine electric lawn mowers to be any good unless you mowed the grass every 3 days and it was kept a certain height.

I own a duplex and usually a tenant will take me up on my offer to mow the lawn in exchange for a discount on rent. Over time gas mowers tend to get harder to start and require much more upkeep. So a few years back I got a B&D electric mower very similar to this one and all I have had to do is sharpen the blade. And all someone has to do to get it running is pull the trigger.

Presently I am mowing the lawn, and I mow it just as often as I would with a gas mower (once a week in spring, once every week and a half as the summer progresses). It handles it just fine. Working with the electric cord is no issue either, its just like vacuuming a large outdoor room. Just keep one hand on the mower and one on the cord then fling the cord if it is in the way. There is no maintenance required to prep for winter storage and with gas prices it cheaper to run than a gas mower. In fact the only time I grab the gas mower is if it looks like it might start raining before I finish mowing.

I highly recommend these mowers.

electric mowers are great! i have an electric mower. it sure beats buying gas, right? i mean... of course i've got to be careful not to run over the cord, but... yeah, it's great. mine's a black n' decker... similar to this one, but i believe this one might be nicer. i would recommend it. the price? well, it's just average, i think. i thought i bought my for cheaper, but that was like five years ago, and - as i said - i think it's a lower model.

I could never stand one of these. What a royal pain in the ... with the cord getting in the way all the time. I've been using the same gas canister for two years now without refilling.
