Anybody would like to share their Black Friday deals? I'm sure a lot of you out there came home with extra money in your pocket and some sweet, sweet stuff. Just curious to know how everybody did on the d-day for shopping.

my walmart had 50 pack of sony cdrs for 10 bucks even after their sale. I got in on 2 packs of those but I was working during the sale on most stores so I didn't get anything else except the 100 cdrs at OM.

Bah... Didnt get much this year. Got optima cdrs and the webcams at staples. That was the only store not oos in the first hour of BF. Missed the Best Buy Hard Drive and Ram deal.
I guess next year ill be like the ones waiting out there 20 minutes before open time:p :D

Went to Fry's (late unfortunatly) at 9am .. waited in line for 3 hrs to get in and then 2 1/2 hrs for check out ... but grabbed myself a free webcam (free with MIR), 2 120gb western digital hd's with 8mb cache for $90 with MIR. Missed out on the Free CDRW however. Next time I'm camping out =P

I went to staples, had the awesomest deal

I nabbed a 40x cd burner, 100 cd-r's and 25 jewel cases for FREE after rebate

The total was about 10 bucks after rebate, but I had an in-store coupon for an extra $10, so...:D

I got 540 CDRs. Total price after rebates approx $20, minus small parts of coupons on large purchases.

I got one of those 40x burners, and use my 15 off 75 coupon ( came in mail ) off the scanner so practically free. Xmas gift for someone.

I still love my non black friday price more, the everydar clearance priceof the cendyne 32x12x48 (acer) burners for $40 with a $50 rebate that is good thru december. It still cracks me up that staples will pay me $40 to buy four of them, they'd save money giving them away on the street free.

Except of course...this money comes from staples national, for the store, it still equals a sale which is that much 'less' the store lost, or that much more they made, where the books are concerned.

Had all my luck online. I had the alarm set really early, but after it went off, I just said f*** it and went back to sleep. Got up around 10:00 and hit the computer. First was Staples, where all those "in-store" deals were available, and most in stock. Picked up the following:

- IBM photo paper 25 sheet
- 6' folding table (been looking for one of those)
- 100-pk CDR
- 25-pack jewel case
- Maxtor 30GB
- Visioneer 5800
- PNY 512MB PC133
- SanDisk SmartMedia 128MB

Added up to $335, used $40 and $10 coupons to get to $285. Rebates add up to $197, so down to $88 after rebates. Also, there are two other $20 rebates on the hard drive, so will send them in and see what happens.

Next was OfficeMax, but couldn't get the things I really wanted (DVD-VCR combo, DVD-ROM drive), but managed enough worthwhile stuff:

- (2) 100-pk CDRs
- 100-pk jewel cases
- Targus CD wallet
- Another Visioneer 5800
- Belkin network card

Added to $105, used $20 coupon = $85 + $4 taxes = $89- $80 rebates = $9 total after rebates. :-)

Hit Staples in person later that day, and surprised to see they had lots of stuff left. They had a full pallet of the 30GB hard drives to start, and still quite a stack left when I got there, plus lots of monitors, HP refurbed printers, etc. But no Maxtor USB card or Cendyne CD-RWs. :-(

All in all, a pretty decent day though.

Headed to staple and bought 2.31 mega pixel HP digital camera for 88 dollars after tax and 50 dollar rebate. Got out of store within 10 minutes.

Bought 32kb organizers for 5 dollar each from Radio shack.

I had the best time, and the best luck. :) The first store I chose to go to, was OfficeMax... I got there early... (4:30am) and the lot was empty... I sat there a while, and then decided to scout around at my other local stores... to see what was up... I went to circuit city it too had an empty lot... then up past best buy, to compusa... also with an empty lot. The only stores that seemed to have people @ them were bestbuy and walmart.. even staples which was in the same shoppingcenter as bestbuy didn't have anybody infront of it. This may be due to opening times (bestbuy opened at 6am where officemax, compusa, circuitcity all opened at 7am) I don't know what time walmart opened up... anyways, I chose to bypass bestbuy from knowing people last year camped out from midnight... plus there wasn't TOO much at bestbuy I wanted.

So I did officemax first.. they were a bit overwhelmed... I wound up grabbing the dvd-rom and the memory right away... and making sure they pulled it out for me.. due to the fact I went to get these right away I missed out on a few things I wanted, but ah well, I also got the 3-vhs tapes and a belkin surge supressor. These four things are free-after-rebate. :) But the BEST part ? (besides getting the dvd-rom, that is..) I used the officedepot $15 coupon!! :) [which of course I wouldn't have known about without you guys, thanks.]

The suckyest thing about it ? well, it took me 45 minutes to get out of officemax even though I was the first person in there!! GRRR....
A semi-good but confusing thing: they pulled out an 16x48x DVD-rom drive instead of the 16x40x I was expecting... and we had to confirm that it was right for the rebate.

A lady that I had been talking to at Officemax when we were waiting to get in... had told me, unfortunately, that circuitcity's lot was packed (she had just dropped off her daughter)... well, I went with my plan anyways, to go to circuitcity right afterwards... I used to be pretty down on circuitcity... but I was quite impressed... they had more than enough staff to handle the crowds and be helpful, and they had PLENTY of stock...

I am a changed person regarding my opinion of circuit city.
I got some FAR ram there (256mb pc133 -- note if anybody has any registered ram, I would be interested in trading unregistered for registered.. I also have other sticks of other types available.) I also got an APC UPS F-A-R... which will be my best gift, and I am quite happy with cause I know the person needs and wants this.. and I have an inkling to believe they will be quite surprised. :) I am having a hard time holding it in. heh. I also got a dvd but then I realized that another store had it cheaper, so I am going to go back for the price guarantee.

Then... by the time I got out of there (about 10:30 or so..)... yes.. two stores took about 3 1/2 hours. I decided... compusa wouldn't have any of the things I wanted left... that they would have been sold out within 20 minutes of opening, but I decided to drive up there just for the heck of it... so... I do so... and I go walking in, as I am doing so.. going up to the counter where they have the cameras, mp3 players, flash memory, etc... I hear a guy standing there talking to the guy, pointing to the ad and asking if they have the 32mb CompactFlash... the Compusa employee responds affirmatively... my jaw drops... I can't believe this... this is the one thing I really wanted... 32mb CF F-A-R... and he has it... infact, as it turns out... these are the LAST TWO PIECES!! We snag the last two pieces! :O

I drive around the rest of the day in shock...

The next day I give my negativity award to Coconuts which sucked, were not well organized, the employees were confused and gave conflicting information, and their opening hours were not as advertised.

Went to the Office Max in Woodbridge, NJ. Got there 10mins after it opened and there were nothin on the shelves. I saw people with 20 phones, swapped of the shelf, in their carts. It was madness I tell you, MADNESS! I ended up going all the way to NJ and getting NOTHING, had to pay $6 toll to get back to NY.

lol doesnt that suck... It must of been my cousin swiping everything from that store :-D

Why did you go all the way to Jersey? I got my stuff from OM right here in Brooklyn. You did it for the tax?

My shatty award would go to OM. I told a Friend about the free DVD player, well, she goes saturday and not friday.

So of course, they don't have any of the 16x cendynes anymore, so the manager gives her a 16x pacific digital for the same $45.

He says she can still submit for the two rebates worth $45.

HOW?

The rebate forms specifically state CENDYNE. Not Cendyne OR pacific digital, ala staples with their E+42 or visioner or memorex deal all qualifying for the $63 rebate.

Parago will be handling the submission, I just KNOW they'll reject it for having the wrong UPC since it's a different company.

I told her to take the damn drive back and don't touch it.

Unless someone can add something to this I don't know about?

Btw, another local staples still had 3 more of those 32x12x40 cendyne cdrws, the ones where you make $8 after taxes and rebate. Shelf price said $79.98.

"Excuse me, can you scan the price on this please?"

"Sure thing" says the clerk. "That's $39.50 sir"

"Thank ya" I say and snag 2 more :)

Apparantly, outside of the blatantly advertised deals in the papers, I don't have any real serious competition in my area for these lesser known, quasi-hidden deals.

Fine with me :D

Wayta go spoofee! Too bad I didnt get anythin...
