In that particular link, doesn't need the promo code you are right. However if you go to the regular sign up page, there you enter the promo code so you get the same deal.

Blockbuster.com is giving out a month free trial. Use coupon code friends

Netflix is also offering a free trial, but unclear as to how long. Use priority code FREERENTALS4

The Netflix trial is only for 2 weeks unfortunately. Still....

I could not complete the Blockbuster offer on my computer. I think it is an active X issue. I will try from work.

Plan: Price: Promotion:

3 at a time
Unlimited rents $17.99 for 1 month(s) plus applicable tax 4 Week Free Trial

Thanks. Shouldn't this be listed under freebies?

Clean up all your cookies an internet history, then set your internet options to the higher security and to not allow cookies, then try it. I bet you is a cookie.... ;)

This is a great service and growing too, netflix may have a head start on selection, but they can't offer 2 free instore rentals each month for just being a member.

I haven't tried Blockbuster online yet, but one big thing I've noticed while browsing the available selections is that Blockbuster gets new re-releases of the same movies so you can watch special editions, deluxe editions, etc. whereas Netflix usually only has the oldest edition. People rarely mention this, but all other things being equal (price and shipping times) I think that's the biggest plus Blockbuster has (assuming it's true).

I won't get into my gripes about Netflix's "throttling" practices.

Blockbuster's shipping seems to be a little slower than netflix (as we mentioned a while back) but I had no trouble at all when i first tried their service. Now, the extra two weeks will certainly make up for the day or so slower shipping than netflix.

As previously mentioned, make sure to check your account for cool coupons you can print out and use in store !

I believe this means you are signing up for a monthly billed account. that they will just automatically start removing from you payment method at the end of 30 days. And like AOL, blockbuster is supposedly notoriously slow ending memberships...if you get my drift?

will never do business with blockbuster again

ya they might offer great deals to get you in.....but in the long run...you will pay..........poor selection, late fees.........and the disadvatage of the two in store rentals is: long lines, slow employees with attitudes, very very poor selection(video games mostly), and when THEY lose your movie/game rental...YOU get charged  .......I used to do alot of business with BB......but after being bent over too many times..........never again will they see any of my money.........and netflix gives great customer service......fast deliveries, great selection, if a disc gets damaged or lost in the mail they dont even question it, they send you a new one asap....and they also reward you for being a long time customer....to this day we still get 4 movies out at a time for $17.99 :) ......try getting that from BB :thumbs_do

Do you work for Netflix? Or have stocks on it?
I used to be in Netflix for a long time, and everytime they lost a movie I would report it until they started putting me in "hold" everytime a movie was late or lost. Once I call to see what was going on and I got scolded by a rep.
Long lines in blockbuster? You got to be kidding.
4 movies?!?! Try 3 movies out at a time for 17.99, same as Blockbuster.

You pay the same in both but with BB you get 2 free store rentals and some other goodies. Like, Last month they gave away 1 previewed movie, all free.

OK, so they don't have a great selection on video games, but they DO have the newest games all the time. Plus in movies, no contest, they have a ton of movies, new releases, plus they have the On Stock Garantee.

Same deal as netflix, if a disk gets dammaged or lost, they don't charge you. They send you another right away.

Dude, you don't even know what you are talking about.

BLOCKBUSTER Online One FREE Month For Friends And Family

Is there anyway to get this deal if you've signed up with Blockbuster online in there past? I had Blockbuster online and I cancelled it about 5 months ago. Now when I try to sign up again it says I am already registered and it gives me the option of activating my account but it won't give me the free month deal. I've tried using different emails or my husbands name but it always goes back to my old account. Iwant to sign up again but I want the free month!

Try using another name and credit card number and phone. Obviously changing your address will be harder. That has worked for me in the past with other things.

i just got reactivated with the free month promotion! If you've had a membership in the past contact Customer Care at 866-692-2789 and give them the coupon code. it work for me!

What if you call them, explain your situation and tell them that w/o the freebie you won't join back. I bet you they'll give u the freebie just to have you on board again.

Blockbuster

Thanks for the suggestion. I called earlier today and got the free month just by giving them the promotional code word. Guess it works better if you call to get it.

Had no problems here using the link and promo code. Looking forward to watching tons of movies. Thanks for the post :)

I have had this plan for a while now, and I have averaged 15-18 movies a month (includes the two instore rentals), plus the extra coupons (got some cool dvds my kids have been wanting). 15 movies for $18 = $1.20 a movie; I'd say that's a great deal no matter what. Not to mention, I always have the new releases within a week if not the day released. Blockbuster.com rocks IMO...
