Borders Books Music Movies Cafe 40% Printable Coupon YMMV

Borders has an incredible 40% off coupon you receive when you sign up at Cisco. Above the coupon, 3 books are stated, but the coupon itself does not have any restrictions.

Note : It's reported to work on anything, but some managers may give their own restrictions (1 order / coupon, no dvds, etc.)

1. Click here and print out your 40% off coupon.
2. Cut out the coupon.
3. Go to your local Borders.
4. Use the coupon.
Final Price : ?? - 40%

The manager in Erie, PA gave my wife "big ones" when she tried to use the coupon. "We never have a 40% off coupon--that's reserved only for employee day". He honored hers--then put up a sign stating they are not accepting them.

Border's Coupon

I used it but the bar code didn't work. The checkout person tried typing in the bar code number but one of the zeros looks like a C instead of 0. She was very sharp and figured it out. One might correct the coupon to avoid any problems.

Great deal!

I tried at the Borders in Greensboro, N.C., and was denied. They claimed the coupon only worked on the three books listed above the actual coupon. I argued that the coupon itself didn't state any restrictions, but they wouldn't hear me.

I only showed them the cut-out coupon, but they had a copy of the full page for salespeople to compare it to. I'm going back today to give it another shot - hopefully there'll be different cashier this time.

Same thing happened here in Rochester, NY. Tried to use just the cut-out coupon but they had the full page printed behind the register to compare with. Sales Assoc/Manager said something about checking where I got the coupon because it was only valid on those 3 books. My guess is that there was some company memo about the coupon abuse (although it isn't technically abuse if the coupon doesn't have restrictions on it...)

I just went back to Borders, found a different cashier and bought two CDs with the coupon. She noticed too late that she wasn't supposed to have honored it, but by that point her manager just said, "well, he got away with it."
