I think I want to buy a bowflex. Preferably the newest spira-flex model that doesn't even have bows anymore.

Has anyone had any experiences (positive/negative) with the bowflex machines or brand?

Does anyone know where I can try the machine I want to purchase before I buy it?

Lastly, does anyone know about any promotions, deals, rebates, etc?

Why invest in one of these things?
Find a local gym that has monthly memberships and a variety of exercise equipment.
You'll find out which ones you like and which you don't.
It takes the same discipline to go to the gym as it does to go into the spare bedroom to work out. I would guess that 80% of all bowflex machines in homes today are holding up laundry, not building muscle.
If you insist on owning something, to to a sporting goods consignment store, like Play-It-Again Sports.

All that having been said:

Personally I prefer weight machines to the springs/bows/tension rod type machines. I don't like the springiness.

By the way, you will NOT get the body of that guy on the TV ads in 20 minutes a day, unless you have a VERY strong genetic inclination.

DanC, thanks for your reply. To address a few things, I live in a rural area.. the closest gym is about 20 minutes away. I've had gym memberships in the past and I never get much out of them because I rarely get the motivation to get dressed and drive out there. I do however get the motivation to work out fairly often.

I'm only 22, and have personally seen that it takes me about 8 months of consistent HIT (high intensity training) to get in extremely good shape. I am not a person expecting miracles. It's just that at college I had a gym that was 5 minutes walking distance with every piece of equipment I needed. Now that I'm home I'm looking for a solution that could minimize traveling time.
