i've purchased a few pairs of shoes from eBay, and have generally been quite happy w/ my purchases :)

i'd recommend carefully checking the seller's history to see how happy previous buyers have been w/ their purchases.

in terms of distinguishing real shoes from knock-offs, well, that's difficult to do online. but if they're selling knock-offs, they should reveal that before you buy, otherwise that's false advertising.

addendum:
... and i'd suggest trying the shoes on in a store first, because obviously, you can't try on the ones being sold on eBay. :) either that, or be familiar with how sizes are for a particular brand. some shoe brands run small, others run large.

also, you can always ask the seller to send you additional pictures of the shoes. just fyi.

well, hope this helps :)

It is contrary to federal law to sell misbranded products, but it happens all the time. Bottom line, you're relying on the seller's reputation and that of its supplier (whom you won't know). That being said, I'd buy new shoes from zappos.com before I bought them from ebay so I'd know I could return them if a problem came up.

My problem with buying shoes online is the size issue. My favorite shoes are Bruno Magli's (the kind OJ wore). They run slightly smaller than other shoes and a men's 9 Bruno Magli is equal to everyone else's 9 1/2. I buy them at a local Burlington Coat Factory outlet, where they have designer close-outs at a deep discount. I find better deals there than at the DSW Shoe Warehouse, altho DSW has a better selection, more attractively displayed.

zappos
wow thats some store, love that free shipping,
but they have no Nike :(

i think some of the shoes on ebay are fake....

do you know fake shoes are really real nowadays?

well, i see many shoes selling for less than anywhere else on internet/in store, now that rings some bells.

but i never bought any on ebay, i still don't know whether i should or not.

i totally agree that fakes today look more real than the real deal.

my friend ordered some from a website which supposedly shipped him from hong kong but one look and i could say they were fake shoes, but he doesn't thinks so.

A friend bought a pair of dockers on Ebay for 30 bucks. He went to JC Pennys and tried on the pair he wanted then waiting till they came up on ebay.

Stores get rid of old stuff cheap & then people put them on ebay. Also stores like Big5 sell way under manf retail price sometimes. $75 shaq shoes were $25 once.

If they were fakes the police to confiscate them.
