The actual website says "Buy 10 General Mills products, get $10.00 free FUEL. Offer valid until 3/11/07." It doesn't say "different" on anything but the form. I think you are fine buying 10 boxes of cereal.

BTW, the form states this is a "Rebate Check", and not a gas card.

yeah the "different" disturbs me but i'll try this out for sure, sounds like a good deal to me - some of the items on that list were 99 cents, making them free.
