I'm not sure if I understand this question!
All I know is that I am currently selling a high quality legitimate phone right now. So authenticity is definately real for the most part (unless they say no returns, that's where it gets suspicious). I write "returns if item arrives as somethign other than as described" so confusion is avoided.
LOL i keep reading the question and i don't understand this: "to get this turn on?" LOL
can you please clarify ?
it depends on the provider you have. some providers such as cingular and tmobile uses sim cards so if you were to buy an unlock phone then you could just put your sim card in and you're good to go but other providers such as sprint or verizon doesn't use sim cards so you will have to buy a phone that's specific to their network and you would have to call them to switch the service to the new phone. they may charge you some fee but i've never used their service so i don't know.
I've never bought a phone off of ebay, but I've sold one and it was a perfectly good phone. I don't know about any other providers, but with cingular u just have to take the sim card out of ur old phone and put it into ur new one
I do not think I would buy a phone off Ebay. You never know whether or not it even works properly or if it is locked up. I am sure there are some better sellers than others too so look closely at the sellers feedback. :bigok:
I bought a cell phone off ebay last year when m fell of the balcony and shattered to pieces. It was a used LG phone. All I had to do is to take out my Cingular chip out of my "totalled" phone and insert it in the new one. That's it! Make sure when you buy it though, you get one that's compatible with your own service provider or get "unlocked" phone good for every provider. Read item descriptions carefully. Good luck!

Why not just go to the store?
You'd get better answers if you pointed to an auction.
I can't speak to buying one from eBay. Getting it turned on depends on the type phone you have now and what you're buying. If you have a phone with a 'SIM' card, just pull the card out of your old phone and put it in the new phone. That all there is to it.
Check out the phone you're considering on this site http://www.phonescoop.com/
My experience is that these folks know of what they speak.
