hi all,

i bought a case which came with dead power supply. now i want to buy a new power supply, but i don't know how to make sure the new supply will actually be of the same size/dimensions and fit in the case.

This is the Case:
ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply

any ideas/suggestions will be very helpful.

Thank you in advance.

Any power supply that says "ATX" on it should fit. (Note: "Mini-ATX" != "ATX") (also note: "!=" = "does not equal") If you really wanna be safe you can take the old power supply and measure it and check it against specs listed on the new one, but power supplies are pretty standard as far as dimensions.

The thing to be sure to watch out for is the thing that plugs into your mother board. This is what the "ATX" refers to. So be sure to get that and you should be good

I just wanted to make sure that other than the Watts and connector, i don't really need to worry about anything else.

so based on what you said, any ATX will do as long as it has the same connectors. right? because i don't see them listing the physical dimensions of the power supply on the websites.

Just take it out & take it to the store & match it up. Its really very easy to take it out. Usually just three or four screws.....

Mine didn't have any screws.

i want to order online. its cheaper online.

yeah, anything that says ATX on it should work. Depending on what kinda of system you're running depends on how much pwer (watts) you need. You'll be safe if you get anything over 400 W I would imagine.

Yes online is cheaper, and don't worry about them not listing dimensions, if it's ATX (and your motherboard is ATX) you will be fine.

Do not buy very cheap one, it will die fast.

I like that site, very interesting to see their reccomendation. Could be useful if you wanted to see how much power you really needed. I always take the time taylor approach though and put as much power available at the time i build the computer.
