Tis the season to go broke, fa la la la la la la! LOL Any one here started to Christmas shop for this year yet? If so, do you think you will spend more, or less money than you did last year?

Me? Already finished, and spent about the same as last year.

I usually have Christmas presents planned out by now. Unfortunately not this year. Last year I did a handmade Christmas, I made all my friends tiny snowglobes with tiny plastic toys in them. They turned out pretty well. =D This year... I'm trying to do handmade again.. just out of ideas.

I have been collecting Bath and Body Works stuff all year. I started the day after Christmas. I also have photo gifts from Shutterfly I have made when they had a good deal and free shipping. I made mugs for some of my family and right now I am making my a calendar for my parents. :)

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one Sharon! The coupons they send out about every week really do work to get you in the store. I have a quite a few items that I plan to give as Christmas gifts. And I really have too much stuff. Snibble actually asked me last Friday if I loved the scent sweet cinnamon pumpkin. What ever gave her that idea? I only have the shower gel, body scrub, hand soap, and hand lotion. I might not be Miss America, but at least I smell good.

...I use my freebies! HAHA!

Especially my MyPoints account. ;)

I have already started. I only have a few more people to buy for. I have been picking up sales throughout the year.

So what'd you get me?????LOL

I have been "window" shopping for months. I am pretty much planned out and I am waiting for sales and especially free shipping - where I live it is a better deal to buy and have it shipped free. I am buying a few things every week so it isnt one big lump sum!

I went craft shopping today though.....got great deals! Joann's was having a 40% sale on Christmas stuff! I was in heaven! Well, close .....I was by myself with both children - it was more like a workout! LOL

That should be a category for Miss America "must smell good"

"Now for the "Smelling Portion" of our competition................" LOL

I used to start my shopping in January and would be done pretty much by September. Learned to do that when the kids were little and I was a single parent and Christmas's would of been pretty bleak if I hadn't picked up little things all year long. It really helps so that you don't go into debt every Christmas. Now I do it so I can spend a bit more on a nice gift each and then little things I pick up along the way I think they will like. One year I made all the presents, we had all of DH's family there that year so was quite the feat and took me months to do. Now I try to make something special for each of the kids is all. This year I'm working on fmaily recipe books done up scrapbook style sorta. I promised my sisters if they would share their favorite recipe I'd make one for each of them too but none of them have come thru so lol this is basically the recipes DH and I have perfected over the years and the ones the kids want everytime they come home plus all the holiday recipes.

Thanks Butty! Yeah.. they went over really well. You can find those tiny glass jars (make sure to get the plastic cap kind). and find tiny plastic toys at the $1 store or at swap meets. Let me know how it goes if you make some.

OMG and I thought that I was the only one with that problem! About five years ago, I bought my Mom a gift, and, HID IT in a flight bag in my closet. Since I have several flight bags, I alternate as I go. Just this past Feb. I pulled out that particular bag, and, boom there was her gift!!!:eek:LOL Since she had just had her knee replacement, I took off the Christmas paper and rewrapped it (a purse) and gave it to her as a "Get Well Soon" gift!!LOL Oh well...better late than never!!! LOL

Like most of you all here, I buy throughout the year, and, put the purchases into my office for future use (another place I can't find a thing!) I like the Bath and Body works cards and savings, but, I am waiting on the yearly sale! :woot::):dancing:

so actually.. I have decided to make mug cozies.
