My sis and I were looking on ebay for formula coupons. These bidders are bidding, and paying up to 50 cents less than the face value of the coupon.

To us this makes no sense. We feel a coupon to be purchased is worth half at most the face value of the coupon.

What are we missing?

I would think if they knew of a store who had a consistent double or triple coupon deal monthly or bi-monthly, then these coupons would definitely be worth face value to those people if they had no clue (other than buying them on ebay) about how to get the coupons.

It's the thrill of bidding and when buying alot of coupons at one time, it is the total of the savings that they are thinking of. The buyers have no fees- the fees all go to the seller. Some stores will also allow you to double the amount of redemption on the coupons. I hope this helped you. I once bought coupons on ebay and I bought 10, 1 dollar off coupons -I paid $2. Each one I used, I got to double at the store.

I understand all of that but these are $5 and $7 "checks"
They can't be doubled.
We too have figured it is the thrill of bidding, but come on - common sense has to come into play somewhere?
Is it really worth paying 4.50 ( that you will get back when you redeem the coupon/check) just to save 50 cents?

:hmm: nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I wonder how much I can get for a dollar bill if I put it up for auction.

ROFL!! I have seen someone sell nothing for something, I wish I could find his blog, he did several auctions like that, that were hilarious!

I've noticed that with baby and pet products. It's crazy! I do have some Nestle checks if you would like them PM me.

WOW - you can actually auction off coupons?? There's another source of income. I have 3 imaginary children ...:bigok:

Thanks Snibble but she needs Enfamil. I appreciate it though!

Technically , no you can't.. you "give" the coupons away and charge for your time.

I get a lot of hard to find coupons on Ebay. They always say "the coupons are free, you are paying for my time to clip them". It's a great source. I get diaper coupon, soy milk coupons and pet food coupons. It's amazing how some people bid so much!

It seems so strange that people would sell/charge for coupons. I had no idea. :ohwell:
