I was looking for deals on LED TV's and I stumbled onto this site..

they had Sony 32in Bravias for like $230, and Westinghouse 32in LED for $195 ! These are like 50% or better discounts off any other site I found. And I think cameras and other categories have similar markdowns.

They seem to be related to other sites with similar names

Something seems odd.. The other thing was the usbuyfash domain seemed to only be a few weeks registered.

How can they sell all these products so cheap!? I wanna buy a TV from them but it seems like they are *too good to be true*! :ohwell:

I didn't find anything on the CONTACT US page either which may be because they are still working on the website? :confused:

As far as I can tell everything is new.

HERE is come contact info from one of the sister-sites. They appear to be a leasing company in TX, but claim all the items are NEW IN BOX with warranties. But the street address seems odd, and there are no phone numbers. Plus the email is a HOTMAIL address?

I sure hope it's real. I just bought a surround sound system thru them. There were things on the site that threw up red flags, but I've never heard of a site pop up like that, and not be legit. I buy online a lot, so hope I'm not being naive here.

we shall see. to be honest at this point if I could cancel my paypal payment I would and go thru amazon.

Plus, a Hotmail address for their professional business site? Be sure you cancel your credit card if you do buy from them. This has scam written all over it.
 
Also, the one comment here makes me really suspicious. It came from another site using that same shipping address, and another fake Hotmail user account.

"if you purchase anything through this website you will not receive your merchandise. the payment will go to an individual in china. if you challenge the charge, they send a blank envelope to generate a tracking number which they provide to paypal. do not accept the envelope or sign anything as this could jeopardize your charge dispute. good luck, these guys are very tricky."

Great minds must think alike, Choo as we both have the same CNET forum linked. (Although your choice of attire, is disturbing. You need more fur!)

One other thought, if you aren't sure about something like this then use your credit card when checking out through PayPal. PayPal will try to divert you to use your bank account, but you can always force the card to be used so you have extra recourse. If enough people did this and PayPal had to eat the costs instead of the duped consumer, then PayPal would reconsider doing business with the scammers. (Either that, or they will no longer allow credit cards to be used...)

Its odd that when I google the URLs nothing really pops up. You'd think that if they were scammers there would be a lotta chatter?

It's too new but if you Google it with the word scam you will find your link here and another one. The buzz buzzes pretty quickly.
They might even have someone searching Google too who then joins forums to make it look like they ordered from them :thinking:
 
yeah, i googled it with scam and nothing came out. just today this site did, called Paypal and I have to wait 5 days to file a claim. We shall see if I get my money back.

placed my order Sunday night. Called Paypal twice yesterday. The 2nd guy opened a claim right away.Got a refund this morning, whew. Lesson learned.

It is funny how on the site the advertise that they accept all forms of credit cards as payment but when you check out it only allows you to use paypal.
 
Technically, you can still use a credit card through PayPal. That is, in fact, the only way I could accept Discover and American Express through my business. (Even though I don't advertise I can accept those cards.)
