I canceled my Netflix account today and what a headache! First of all when I clicked on the link to cancel it I got:

Sorry, a problem has occurred with the Netflix site.
If you continue to have trouble with the site, you can notify us of this Site Error.

No other link on the site was having that problem. :bs: I got the same message all morning. :banghead: I sent them an email and got a generic form letter and no cancellation. NO where on the site is a customer service number. I googled it and found it myself on a message board. I called and was put on hold for five minutes and finally was able to cancel. When I told the customer service rep. the link was broken he said they are working on it. When I told him there is no customer service number he said they are working on it but won't have one on the site til next year. Wherever.:mmph:

Also I just found out when you cancel your service it is terminated that day even though you've paid for that month already. They won't send you out anymore movies but they won't prorate the month either, so if you cancel do it the day before your billing or you lose out on what you've already paid for.:bs:

It's not nice but, they do state that in their terms when you sign up. I think they should pro-rate it too. But it would make for more hassle. I am happy with my blockbuster plan. :bigok:

That's strange, I have signed up and quit w/ them like 3-4 times and never had any trouble. I like to sign up for them for a few months during the summer when TV sucks and will cancle when fall TV picks up.

I have always had Blockbuster and when you quit with them they still send you movies for the time you've paid for. This is the first time I've had Netflix and I never read the fine print. :o

We dont even bother with any of them anymore.....if we want to watch a movie we order PPV. Same price - dont have to go to the movie store and dont have to return it either!

Netflix problems

I had problems with Netflix also. I signed up for the free trial period and got caught in the "auto" pay because I couldn't cancel it without being on hold forever. So I reported them to the better business bureau for not having a complete website and inaccurate details in their contract for not notifying me they were continuing my subscription. They refunded all of my money immediately after that. It's amazing what a little bit of knowledge does!
