that's what i'm waiting for as well! a digital SLR is not functional without a lens and the default 18/55 lens will come in quite handy!

as we draw closer to christmas, i will continue to hold out for hope... :clock:

good buy, I've had the film version of the Rebel for 7 years and its been a rugged performer. My current Canon lenses will fit this baby just fine.

This is a great deal for the XT body. You might want to consider the very cheap (usually under $70) 50mm/f1.8 prime lens instead of the 18-55 kit lens anyway. Or if you want a more versatile lens, you could pay a bit extra for the Tamron or Sigma 18-200 lenses. In my opinion, those are much better buys than the kit lens.

I bought this camera (kit) online for somewhere around $800 (less $75 rebate that I am still waiting to recieve). Then I went onto ebay and bought a better lens and while I was on there I found many lenses that would work in the place of the one with the kit. I endud up spending $85 for a 75-300 Tamron (I think that is the brand). I know this leaves a little gap in my coverage of a 18-55 & 75-300 but it is good enough for what I need.

I traded up from the EOS 300D (previous model) to the XT (350) and I could not be happier... lighter weight, faster, and of course larger images!!
