The price is for the older model SD500, not the SD550.
 
This is SD500 though, not SD550.
SD550 is more expensive and the 20% coupon doesn't work for it, but there is an automatic 15% discount.

SD500 (A0459499): $349 before any coupons.
SD550 (A0521529): $399 before any coupons.
 
I don't think there's any difference between a 7.1MP and a 3.2 MP camera if you are going to use it in 4x6 pictures. This 7.1MP only helps in printing poster. It is still hard to notice the difference in 8x11 unless you look closely at the details. Just my recommendation to help anybody that is deciding to upgrade.
 
If you are just printing pics it makes no difference, but it will help with 4x6's. You can zoom in much closer to something, crop the pic and then print it out

the only real difference is the 2.0" vs. 2.5" LCD monitor. Canon produces the best pictures--my opinion, of course! There are periodic specials on the 550 and you can get it for about $325 shipped.

most states have to pay the tax. shipping is free for electronics over $49. Order the camera over the phone. They have more capabilities to enter in codes and coupons more than you can do on the internet. this way you can be sure you get all the discounts you have. Believe it or not, you can negotiate over the phone with the sales reps. I always order from Dell over the phone--they can sometimes give you the coupon code if you don't have one. Try it.
