CD RW DRIVE - freaking out - HELP!!!

When my CD-RW drive is EMPTY it is turning on every few minutes - the problem with this is that is creates audio interference to all and any things playing audio.


PLEASE HELP ME MAKE IT STOP!!!!

what do you mean "turning on"..optical (cd drives) are always on.. i mean they are connected to ur mobo..so they dont turn off..

1-when does this happen ?

2- What cd-rw do u have ?

3- what kinda of interferences?

You know... they DO have a program that goes into your computer, some developers made this, that messes around with your CD-RW drive or CD-drive and it's funny because it'll turn on and open and close whenever, but this is only when a program that has the codes is on, if the program isnt on, they dont do it...

Hehe... it freaked me out when my drive just opened and a messege popped out saying "Close your CD-RW drive! =)" and I'm like whoa... the Matrix is speaking to me.. haha jk jk... but yeah... it wasnt and isnt suppose to be harmful!
