Staples currently has the Panasonic KX-FHD331 for $39.99 ($79.99 - $40 easy rebate). Free shipping (w/ purchases over $50). You may have to pay tax. Office Depot has the same deal.

What features are you looking for though, dehawk666? Sometimes (but not currently) Fry's/Outpost has some for between $0 to $20 after rebate, but these are really, really basic models.

Are you in a hurry for the fax machine? If not, I know I've seen deals every so often at Fry's/outpost as well as other stores for fax machines around $20 after rebate. But these are really basic models. They're the kind whre if you have an answering machine that you'd rather have answering your phone, then you'll need to press a button each time to receive a fax. Anyway, I'll look around and keep my eyes peeled for fax machine deals for ya. :D
 
Yeah, also, if you buy a fax machine that runs on those ribbons, not a laser one, don't expect to get much use out of it. I have a Brother model 770 (older model) which seems to be working well right now, but my neighbor gave me a Panasonic which was a little better and it gave out. There are endless nightmeres with fax machines. However, this Brother model seems to be running pretty well. Thank goodness my dad works for an office supply company so we don't have to pay for this junk. :D

Hi dehawk, this might be more than you were looking to spend, but Staples has the Brother InfelliFax 1820C @ Staples for $59.99 AR today (Tuesday) only. This is an INKJET fax machine that also can make copies in either B&W or color.

Just thought I'd mention it in case you, or anyone else looking for a fax machine, might be interested. :)
 
An Inkjet fax machine for that price? Having that convenience is PRICELESS. I can't even begin to tell you how annoying those ribbons are. Not to mention that if someone sends you a BS fax that either didn't come through right or are junk altogether (my dad's customers send many of them), you run through a whole sheet of ribbon for one page so if the page was blank, you're out a whole page of ribbon. The inkjet quality must be so much better and it's more efficient.

According to CNET, the Part number is FAX1820C. Is this different than what you have? :confused:

ps i did a search using "brother 1820c" - seemed to get lots of "review" results w/ that term.

update: ps you're right. i just tried to do a search for a cnet review using the staples part # (ppf1820c) and got zilch.

Staples has it listed as PPF1820C, I figured it was a IntelliFax 1820C but was not positive. The reviews confirmed my fears, I was wondering about ink consumption. I know my photo printer, which I do not use alot uses up alot of ink with having to prime the cartridges because it sits for a while. :cry:

So I ended up cancelling my Staples order. But thanks alot for the help. :D
