Motorola RAZR V3 is a very well known phone for it's striking design. Amazon has just dropped the price on these. You must activate with Cingular so make sure Cingular has good reception in your area. Check out the reviews from CNET.

This is because Cingular just lowered the price on the RAZR signficantly. Direct through Cingular, the price used to be $500 with activation. Now, even if you activate through Cingular, the price has dropped there to $350 after rebate with activation, so all of the indirects are dropping their prices too.

Beware... I'm told that the rebates are invalid if you port your number over. Only valid if you get a new number.

Hmm, I don't think that's true? As long as you make a new account and sign up for service, you're fine.

Are you positive about that? I don't see any thing in the fine print, but I've heard that from someone who went for a similar deal with Amazon and got burned.

If I'm way off, sorry for spreading FUD.

you will need to get a new plan, you cant just change your phone.

you will have to wait at least to the second month of phone service, before you can send in the rebate form by sending in copy of your bill/ 180 days of full service.

Well of course you can't change your phone, the offer is for new customers, but I don't think it matters whether you port your number over or not.

you can actually get this phone for 200 with 1 year contract at those PRIVATE CELLULAR shops.

I just got my cingular service yesterday with a 1 year instead of 2, got the MPX220 for free, no rebates. -=) Out of curiousity I asked how much the RAZR would cost the sales lady said it was $200 with a 1 year, and Free if you sign a 2 year.

However, The sales is final, it does not have a return or exchange policy like Cingular has [14 days to try etc..] and they have their own contract in addition to the cingular 1 year contract.

It states that if you cancel within the 6 months of the 1 year contract they [store] is authorized to charge you $300 per line in addition to the ETF by cingular.

so try your little cellular stores first. -=D
