Have you guys visited Circuit City to see their closeout sales? I'm planning to stop by tomorrow.

Sad to see this
http://www.circuitcity.com

I guess Bestbuy's line will be quite long for the next gaming console

I am thinking about stopping by tonight. I wasn't sure when the sales started or I would have checked it out when I was out last night. I hope they have got good deals on blue ray discs. I just got my player but no discs yet.

I went to one of the previous closings, in November I think. I got the impression that they had moved all the good stuff to a store that was staying open. Since they don't have that option this time, maybe the sales will appear to be better deals.

I think it depends if they are liquidating themselves or who is doing the liquidation......with LNT the liquidation was horrible...you paid less with their 20% and a sale....there were no bargains there.....hope Circuit City does better....I need some expensive cables and possibly a home theater package...

Yea the LNT closing was a joke... The CompUSA close was a joke also, a lot of there clearance prices were more than what there current ad was listing them for.

I confirm. I stopped by today and most or maybe all prices are better at Amazon or even Target sales.

Very small 10-30% off Circuit City's original marked up prices. Not hot at all. I was told discounts will get heavier as time goes on.

Claim was 30% off, actual was 10% almost everything. Sort of a bait & switch thing.

Prices won't drop a lot until that stores closes in about 2 weeks.

Circuit City?

Anyone been hunting the Circuit City closures? I haven't had a chance to get out to a store recently, but have been wondering what they're doing in the way of liquidation. Worthwhile?

If you're bargain hunting then look elsewhere. I was just there yesterday. They had a sign that said UP TO 30% off but when I went it it was mostly 10% and that was 10% off the displayed price. You get better deals online. Not worth visiting for bargain hunters.

We went yesterday. Disappointing. As stated above mostly 10% w/only a few things 30%. We were looking at TV's but I'll be danged if I'm going to pay that much for something (15% off if I remember right) and then not be able to get service when something's wrong. Now, if they went to say 50%..I might be co-erced.

Sidenote: I heard the one salesperson telling a customer how the quality of their products was so much better than say Walmart. He said "I don't recomend ever buying electronics at Walmart". and probably not Best Buy, or Sears, or....

but hey! at least they're going to be around in a couple months...I mean as best as we can determine.

I did hear that most of the really good deals will not come until the final couple of days before the closing. I certainly hope so because that 10% off circut city prices puts it at only about 5% higher than other stores

I was talking to a guy Monday that said after CompUSA went out of bussiness Micro Center ended up with the rest of there stuff. He picked up a USB pci card for $6...
