Craigsnumber.com is a site that gives you a phone number and extension in your area code. You give this number to anyone you want, for example if you are listing online and don't want to give your real # use this service. If anyone calls that number they will be redirected to your number of your choosing, home phone, work. It even lets you put up to Two numbers so that if you are not home it will call you on your cell phone.

At least that is the info I was able to find!
 
I use Private Phone (free voicemail only) and it rocks. You can even call numbers back with the private phone number displayed on the receiver's caller id. These callas are limited to 10 minutes, but it's come in handy. I am shopping for a car and don't want dealers calling my home, work, or cell phone.
 
AIM, on AOL has free numbers too. I use theirs and it works great.

I did give them suggestions for most of their features and they are very nice and open to new ideas!
