i am a rewards member, but they still charge me shipping. how does it work?

I had the same problem with not getting free shipping. I fixed it by doing the following:

1- login at staples.com, go to the My Account tab, click Personal Info button.
2- change rewards number to something random, ie 1234567890. Save it.
3- Click to change number again, change it back to the correct number and Save.

It should now give free shipping. (Note: Free shipping only shows up when something is in your cart. With this method there is no logging in and out, clearing cache, or anything else troublesome.

It looks like to me that you have to spend $50.00 before you can take advantage of the free shipping. Unless you are a Staple rewards member. If you are a member all you have to do it create an account and put in your customer # and it will show up in the cart as free shipping. But they still may add tax to the order if it is appliable
