Yeah, crazy deal. Even better than the deal I got on my Kingston card a little while ago. I paid $23 for my Kingston standard speed 512MB CF, but hey, what can you do. I'm happy with the card at least.

I know, I paid around $16 (plus tax) for a regular old 256mb cf card, and it wasn't that long ago when I bought it. At the rate the prices on these cards are dropping, it's almost like soon they'll all be free. Oh well, I don't really need a card with that much memory anyway, but it sure would have been nice...:34:

Lexar Media 512mb 12X HSS Compact Flash for $14.99 Shipped After Rebates

Amazon has the Lexar Media 512mb 12X compact flash for a good price. There is also an extra $15 rebate which makes this deal hot! Pricegrabber Price : $53~115 Shipped
Spoofee Price : $14.99 Shipped

1. Amazon Price : $49.99
2. Rebate Price : -$20.00 ( Send copy of UPC )
3. Rebate2 Price : - $15.00 ( Send original UPC )
Final Price : $14.99

Spoofee, you reposted this. I merged the topics to your topic as to avoid altering the link on the front page.

What can I say...

These cards are so cheap these days anyway that even if you do pay a little bit for one, it's not the end of the world. It all matters on when you jump in. :)

Speed of the card counts too. These are 12x. You can get 60x cards, i think, an Ultra version.

I've been using the 40x 1 GB Lexar from the deal a couple of weeks ago, and I love it. That was $50 and worth every penny. I'm still undecided about whether to get this 512 or not. But then again, at this price, there's no reason not to! :D

But did you get the rebate check yet? No fair calling it a $50 deal if you didn't.

That's a valid point - I'll give you that. But the rebate is straight from Lexar and not Buy.com, so I'm expecting it will be alright. I'll just make their lives miserable with phone calls and emails if I don't see that rebate ;)

I assume when Amazon's page says "ships in 1 to 2 weeks" that means it's out of stock and won't ship in time to get the rebates?

I checked Spoofee around 7-8 AM CST before I went to work today, and I didn't see this deal listed. By the time I got home from work at 9 PM, Amazon seems to be out of stock already.

What times does Spoofee update the main page because when I check it in the morning before I go to work, I often see the previous day's deals (so I must be too early for the update) and when I check it at night everything I want from that day's new deals is out of stock. Unfortunately I can't check while I'm at work. It would help to know the update schedule if it occurs at a specific time. Thanks.

Which $20 rebate are you able to see?
The $15 Lexar rebate says "...up to $20..." in huge letters on the top of it", but it's actually a $15 rebate for this card. It's a PDF file, so you need Adobe reader installed (you can get it free here).

For all you speed freaks, remember, just because a 40x or 60x card is faster does NOT mean your camera can necessarily take advantage of it! Some older cameras (and a CF camera is probably more likely to be older) can't exploit those speeds anyway, so waiting for a deal on a faster card is pointless! It's like having a USB 1.1 PC and attaching a USB 2.0 device, doesn't matter, you're still going to get USB 1.1 performance.

For Yowza and other folks who may have seen this ad later than they would have wanted, here's some info from Amazon.com that might help you. Basically, if you PLACE AN ORDER for the item BEFORE the rebate expiration date, and your rebate is POSTMARKED BEFORE the deadline (12/27/04), you still qualify. Also, AMAZON does NOT CHARGE you UNTIL the item is ready to ship. So, you can place your order, and if you need to CANCEL YOUR ORDER it if it seems like it won't be coming in time to make the postmark deadline. I bolded the pertinent info below that I thought might help...

Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I have reviewed the item "Lexar 512 MB 12X HSS CompactFlash Card
(CF512-12-251)" on our web site and see that it is listed as "In
stock soon."

When an item is listed on our web site as "in stock soon," this
means that supplies of the item may be limited but we'll do our
best to ship you the item within 4 to 6 weeks
. If after 6 weeks we
still haven't been able to acquire the item, we'll let you know via
e-mail, at which point you can decide to keep your order open or
cancel it.

However, you can place the order now and we'll ship this item when it
becomes available. You can cancel your order at any time
.

As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items
until they enter the shipping process
, so you will not be charged
for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you.

I apologize if this availability was unclear on our web site; there
should have been a link from the product's detail page to this page:

http://www.amazon.com/o/tg/browse/-/1056226/

Further, when we show mail-in offers for items listed on our web
site, they are generally available for printing. Customers qualify
for the offer as long as they submit their order for the item within
the offer's listed qualifying dates.

If your order was placed within the qualifying time frame and you do
not receive your order until after that time frame
has passed, you
are still eligible if you send the mail-in offer
and any other
necessary materials (such as the UPC code) to the manufacturer before
the postmark deadline
displayed with the offer on our web site.

To view the complete mail-in offer on our web site, go to the item's
product detail page and click where indicated. Click each offer to
enlarge. You can print it using your browser's "Print" option. If
several coupon pages are displayed, please make sure you print and
complete all rebate offers for which you are eligible.

You can also view the correct coupon at the following URL:

Please note that most manufacturers require that you send in the
original UPC barcode. If you need a receipt to enclose with the
offer, you can print an invoice for your order by clicking the
"Your Account" link at the top of our web site and then selecting the
link to "Print invoices."

LEXAR 512MB $20 Rebate Form

In your post for Lexar 512MB compact Flash card form Amazon.com, the $20 rebate is not showing the correct date of purchase anymore. IT now shows them as 12/09/04 to 12/18/04

Instead of
- $20 Amazon.com mail-in rebate, 11-18 to 11-27-04 (needs COPY of UPC)

Does anybody happen to have the old rebate form where the date of purchase was in November and not December.

Wrote to Amazon.com today...hopefully they'll respond soon.
I actually didn't buy this item, so never needed to use the rebate form (otherwise I'd have a copy of it for you).

If someone kept a copy of their rebate submission, they could make another copy of it, cover over their personal info in that copy, then scan and upload the form for you? Maybe?

Yup. Here you go...
(jpg file w/ rebate form should be attached to this post).
UPDATE: had to remove form b/c I needed up upload something else. I still have it, tho. If you still need this form, the link in the msg below may still work. If the link doesn't work, & you still need this form, pls let me know.
Thank you for writing to Amazon.com to bring this to our attention.

I apologize that the offer for the "Lexar 512 MB 12X HSS CompactFlash
Card (CF512-12-251)" is not currently accessible on our web site.

Many manufacturers do not include copies of mail-in offers with the
product because the offers are often valid for only a short period
of time. This is especially true of offers from Amazon.com.
We provide a printable image of the offer online for you to
print at the time you place your order. As the time period for
this item's offer has expired, we removed the offer's image from our
web site.
However, I was able to locate the archived files.

Please return to our web site to print the offer from this
URL:

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006HXJ6.01.RB17.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Click each coupon to enlarge; print it using your browser's "Print"
option. If several coupon pages are displayed, please make sure you
print and fill out all of them.

If you experience any difficulty, please contact us by visiting
http://www.amazon.com/contact-us and we'll be happy to fax or mail
you a copy of the coupon.

Please note that most manufacturers require that you send in the
original UPC barcode, so please keep the item's packaging until the
coupon arrives. Also, if you need a receipt to enclose with the
rebate form, you can print an invoice for your order by clicking the
"Your Account" link at the top of our web site and then selecting the
link to "Print invoices."
