Make sure you get the right one...

Staples has two different 17" NEC LCD monitors. Make sure you get the silver one with SKU #582994. Rebates are good for only this model SKU.

Both rebates work...$50 rebate is from Staples... the $90 rebate is from NEC.

Just bought one myself.

The NEC rebate for $90 going to El Paso, TX, will NOT be honored by NEC or Staples, unless you get really, really, really lucky. This comes from a direct response by NEC. The only $90 rebate that is official for this deal at Staples, is the actual Staples $90 rebate, either the Easy Rebate done online, or the mail-in rebate going to Miami Florida, which unfortunately did expire on 1/1/2005 for Staples purchases. Sorry to say this, but unless you purchased the NEC LCD1735 on or before 1/1/2005 at Staples, you are probably going to be out of luck getting the $90 rebate.

This is the same kind of thing that happened during the Netgear rebate fiasco at Staples, where official Netgear manufacturer rebates were invalidated by Netgear claiming Staples was, "Not a participating retailer" for their specific rebates, and that you must only use the Staples rebates offered from Staples own website, or from Staples in-store for all Netgear rebates. :banghead:

And the monitor is still listed at Staples.com even now, though it's odd that it won't come up when I searched for it specifically, I had to use a link I found elsewhere.

Sorry to say it, but if I had followed that suggestion chiyepet, the wrong monitor would have been purchased, because the only 17" NEC LCD monitor close to your price, which was also the "first" one, was the NEC ASLCD71V-BK 17" LCD Monitor for $349.98 ... and was SKU #582798, certainly not the right monitor for any rebates.
