** DEAD ** -- Refurbished IBM Optical Mouse w/ONLINE Purchase from TigerDirect.com

** EXPIRED! **

Not sure if "Free with purchase goes here"

http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/ibmMouse/INDEX.ASP

IBM 4-Button Optical Navigator Scroll Mouse

Shop at TigerDirect.com as you normally would, check out and complete your order. You will then receive a shipping confirmation e-mail that will show that the FREE IBM Optical Mouse has been added to your order.

Update By Choochoojr:
Free after manufacturer mail-in rebate. †This product is factory recertified.
Look at bottom of page. Also shipping is outrageous for anything purchased from here.

I got one of these a month and a half ago, really not a bad mouse, even better since it's free :)

is there a minimum on the order before i could qualify to get the free mouse? could i just get some stereo cables for a couple of bucks and get the mouse for free? i'm asking because i really need some cables anyway so why not get a mouse (but if i can't get the mouse, i'd rather shop elsewhere for cheaper cables)

I think they have a el-cheap-o mic for 99 cents. I'm going to look... ;)

If you look at the fine print at the bottom of the page

"*Price after manufacturer mail-in rebate. †This product is factory recertified."

Yes you must pay for the mouse and then send in a MIR in order to get it and it is a factory reconditioned mouse. Also shipping will probably have to be paid and SHIPPING IS NOT CHEAP!

TigerDirect WILL NOT honor this

TigerDirect is not going to honor this offer.

Below is the response I got from them after inquiring
why it did not show up on my invoice or shipping notice.

Notice that the reason they are not going to honor the
offer is the offer is only valid for purchases made
on another site. Nowhere is this stated in the page
making the offer.

I have filed a complaint with my state's Consumer
Protection Agency. Anyone else who was taken in on this
offer should also do so immediately.

Thanks for your E-mail.

We are not certain where the URL in your E-mail was
obtained, but the offer described is only available for
purchases made from the link at www.************.com.
Records indicate that your order was not placed from that
link, so in this case the offer would not apply.

Sincerely,

Web Response Team

It is not entirely clear to me at what stage of the order
process I will see the free IBM mouse -

http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/ibmMouse/INDEX.ASP

- added to my order paperwork. It did not appear in the
confirmation email, and it does not show up on the invoice.
When should I expect to see this appear in the paperwork?

Did anyone else get the above email??

I don't know but something seems fishy. How would they know what site you got the URL from. There are no affiliate links involved.

Don't believe me, eh?

Don't believe me, eh? Well, that's certainly
your privilege. I encourage you to check it
out for yourself.

And I encourage anyone who ordered from TigerDirect
expecting to receive this item to look at their
emailed invoice and their emailed ship notice item
list. You won't find the mouse on either. When
you contact their customer service using the contact
form on their web site, you'll no doubt get much
the same answer that I did.

Not actually saying I don't believe you, just saying something sounds fishy, not with your story but with the response you received from Tigerdirect. It could possibly be that an affilliate link might have been needed so they could somehow track where it came from, but who knows. :hmm:

I marked the deal as dead.

TigerDirect rectifies my situation

After filing negative feedback on the transaction
at ResellerRatings, TigerDirect's customer ombudsman
called me personally (on Sunday at 11 AM, no less,
the man is dedicated to his work) to rectify the
situation.

My situation is fixed.

The TigerDirect web site still shows the original
page with the offer. I don't know whether they
are going to pull the page, modify the offer, or
what. Anyone who has not put in an order yet
might do well to wait a day or so and see what the
final situation is.

If you have put in an order and did not receive
the mouse, contact me and I will pass along the
email of the TigerDirect customer ombudsman who
handled my situation.

Thanks for the info, but seems like to much work for me to make sure I get the mouse. Glad you got yours after all that.

The page is still up, but on Spofee Forums they put expired. So I don't think I will give it a try.
