Grrr...Now if I could only remove the monitor, it would be perfect

or you can probably find someone on craigslist or at your work that'll want to buy the 19" off of you for $100. :p

Last time they had this deal you could remove the monitor for $180 off making it $399 with free shipping

Not likely to make some people happy...

Certainly everyone knows that there is no way you are going to please everyone with a deal like a computer -- especially when you can add and remove things from it. Dell lets you go as cheap as you want and remove things below what you should go (such as only putting 512 MB memory in Vista).

One guy in those reviews says his Dimension 8200 was the best computer he has ever bought and this is the worst. Well, simply put the 8200 was a mid to high range computer (at the time -- remember RAMBUS memory and its cost) and now he is comparing it to the bottom of the barrel (cost-wise) computer available. This guy also speaks of having to boot from the CD 1 out of 4 times the computer boots up... if this is not an overstatement, he either loaded some buggy software (or more likely a program/driver that was not compatible with Vista) or is a complete idiot for not calling Dell when it first started happening.

I have one of these computers for kids games and wireless internet, it works just fine for that with 1 GB memory. If I loaded Photoshop on it, it would not be as good -- of course I spend $750 for software and load it on a computer for $450, I deserve what I get!!!

You have my 2cents worth...

I'm going to get this machine. I wish I could remove the hard drive, cd-r/w, lcd and operating system as I already have them. For the price though, I don't mind. I plan on taking the base video card and (when I find a great deal on Spoofee) buy a better one and run dual-head as I already have a 26" LCD HDTV that I use as my computer monitor now.

Keep in mind that these are half height cards - be sure that's what you buy when looking to replace the one in the computer....
