I have a new, never-used Windows XP disk. Would this machine be a good choice to buy and then install that operating system? I am not really interested in Linux. Thanks.

pretty good price, I would rather add $25 for the core 2 duo rather than the T4200 (dual core is pretty old now)
If I can get the ubuntu out and install xp on it (the down side is finding the drivers), it would be perfect.

Windows XP would work great on this machine, especially with the 2GB RAM. I'd go for it. :yesnod:

i would be very selective on this one if your intension is to reload with XP the drivers might not be available

Can't think of any reason there wouldn't be drivers for XP on everything in this laptop, the only reason they don't have Windows on it is to reduce the cost.
