VPR Matrix 1.7M

Thats a pretty odd price for something pretty old. But oh, wait... ITS A DELL LOL . I bought my VPR Matrix P4 M 1.7 from Best Buy about a year and a half ago for about $600 taxes included and there's hardly any difference between mine and this dell. Here... http://www.vprmatrix.com/products_notebook_170B4.asp compare. I might be wrong. Oh, and about the brand, no problems with this thing. The problems it has been giving me is from how well, or not well, I've been treating my laptop... I just figured this out today. I noticed that a piece of the casing from the corner of the laptop broke because of the cheap laptop bag I got for it and I've been banging this thing on every door and wall I see :p . Now my pcmcia card slot is not working and I busted the connectivity from the motherboard to the monitor somehow. :( :( :(

First off...i'm pretty sure dell would not rip anyone off by that much...it is dell, but they do get business for a reason....

Secondly, the 600M is not old...your VPR Matrix is older...and there are huge differences between the two:
CPU:
600M: Intel® Pentium® M Processor 1.4GHz
VPR: 1.7GHz Intel ® Mobile Pentium ® 4 Processor-M
Completely different chips...because the Pentium M has 1MB cache it performs at the level of a 2.0ghz P4...and uses less energy...

GPU:
600M: 32mb ATi Radeon 9000
VPR: 16MB ATI Radeon 7500
just by looking at the numbers there is a difference...

plus not to mention the extra hdd space...

overall, i think the extra money is well worth it for the much better video card, and cpu

also, i would like to add that i've seen dells (not the 600m specifically) droped onto a hard surface from about the hight of a table top without any damage or problems at all...
