Can't chose WinXP.

Windows vista from the new computer I tried it on and ended up returning is a pain in the ass. It took 2 hours to even try to get on my wireless at school and even then it wouldn't work, not to mention that it's extremely slow, even on a brand new computer.

It's also got the old core duo not the newer and better core 2 duo FYI

External Hard Drive? Whaa? So much for portability...

Portability is the concept for being a laptop.

it's probably not the brand new computer that is creating slow wireless...i'd check the wireless speed at your "school", 2 hours to get on wireless, you probably hit the manual switch off and forgot to turn it on

That's the problem I see all over. People buy laptops because they look "cool", then they sit on their desks 99% of the time. Dumb. Only buy a laptop if you are going to USE it as a laptop.

A Good Deal

Sounds like a good deal...

dual core processor
2 gb RAM
80 gb hard drive
cd/dvd burner

under $700 (before tax/shipping)

This is a good deal.

In the basic nuts and bolts sense this is a great "portable" computer at a pretty good price. Unless you’re using your computer as a "stereo" 80g drive should be a 5 year hard drive. I got a 60g 7200 a while back and it works perfect as my "computer".
