Dell Poweredge 400SC Pentium 4 For $275 Shipped After Rebates

Dell Small Business has the Dell PowerEdge 400SC, Pentium 4 2.4ghz 800FSB, 128mb ram, 40GB, mouse, keyboard, no operating system for a great price.

1. Click here to go to Dell SB.
2. Scroll a little down and find the PowerEdge 400SC for $299.99.
3. Click on Customize It
4. Click on Customize It for the $299 setup.
5. Select Free Upgrade to an Intel P4, 2.4GHz,800FSB at a Cel 2.4 price
6. Select $100 Mail in Rebate
7. Select Standard Keyboard
8. Select Logitech Mouse
9. Click on continue & Add It ( Price should be $375 )
10. Rebate Price : -$100.00
Final Price : $275

The cheapest I can get this for with the $100.00 MIR is $373.00. How did you get it to take the supposedly Free Upgrade for the processor? When I clicked on that it added $99.00 to the price, hence the FINAL prices of $373, not $275.

Free P4 2.4 not 2.8

i think you clicked on the 2.8 upgrade. Even though it says Free Upgrade it does seem to be $99 more. There is another free upgrade for the P4 2.4 ghz which really is free

If only I could read

Oh, if only I could read  Thanks for the pointer to the right one. The Spoofee instructions had it in bold but did I pay attention? Nope.

If you want the p4 2.8GHz upgrade...it will be $99 extra...

I've got one of these...

I purchased a 400SC a couple of months ago. It has been a great machine.
The motherboard on mine was able to accept ECC or Non-ECC memory. I chucked the ECC that comes with it and got a couple of sticks of Non-ECC memory from Crucial. Also my MB has an AGP slot and it works great with my GeForce 4 card. I added an Audigy soundcard and so far it's been a great gaming machine. Also the case is a nice bonus. It splits in the rear and opens with the push of a couple of buttons. The case has slide mounts for your HD and CD Rom drives. There's even a couple of spare slides. There isn't an OS installed and it's really simple to just throw in an XP install disk and go from there. The only trick was the NIC drivers and I think I had to try a couple of different ones from the Dell website. If I remember right it uses the driver that's good for a 10/100/1000 style NIC. But man this thing is quiet. I never hear it running. It uses a fan in the rear to push cool air through a square tube straight down on the processor.
I'm liking mine alot for the money spent. ;)

Enjoy your new machine,

Jeff D.

I can't get the price dow to US$ 275 after rebate....I was only able to get it down to US$299 after rebate.....what did I miss?

I also got taxed on, totalling US$ 421 (before rebate).

Yup, Dell Small Business charges sales tax on everything, unlike Dell Home.

Dell Home charges tax too.

When did they start doing that? I've never been charged sales tax from Dell Home but always from Dell Small Business. However I live in a non - Dell state where they don't have a business presence.

My total came out to be $431.91 on 3.19.04
$399
$32.91 tax

Now when I go online (3.23.04) for the same system it subtotals out to $374.

Yup, I just checked.....now it's US$ 125 instant saving...it was "only" US$ 100 back on the 19th....
