Are you just realizing this now, Dan? Don't you recall the big push for "Ebonics" many years back?

Maybe we should start a pig Latin thread?

I know it's nothing new, it just irritates me.
I grew up speaking Southern, Cajun and Jive as well as the Queen's English. It's not that I'm not multilingual. I think it's that the new street slang is just lazy. It's not distinct, just fill your mouth with marbles and leave off the last half of the word.

OK, now I'll go finish my coffee and quit being a grumpy old man.

"Some" of us   on this forum (not including posters in this thread) would totally "dig it", dawg!

Anyone see the recent interview w/James Earl Jones? I only saw a minute or two and I can't remember who even did the interview-but he spoke about having issues w/stuttering and the interviewer said "I don't notice any problem when you speak now" and he said "That's because (insert name that I can't remember here-some famous actor) has made it the norm". You know, like, cuz, uh.........

I like that song. :blushing: :behindsofa:

It sounds like oatmeal is the preferred "filling" down here......

Huh? I don't get it?

Hey K-Ma! I hope all is splendid with you.

The last box of the cartoon is from a song by 50 Cent. FYI those are also one of the few lyrics I understand in that song. :blushing:

Are you a closet DJ or something to be so well versed in songs?

I don't know what you're talking about. :proud:

BTW what language is that, preco?

Finding a song after being provided extensive lyrics  and knowing a few 50 Cent songs doesn't make me a DJ. FYI I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to music.

I'm waiting for preco to make a closet comment. ;)

It's all Big Daddy's fault...:yesnod:...he started it...:lost:

I know it's nothing new, it just irritates me.
I grew up speaking Southern, Cajun and Jive as well as the Queen's English. It's not that I'm not multilingual. I think it's that the new street slang is just lazy. It's not distinct, just fill your mouth with marbles and leave off the last half of the word.

OK, now I'll go finish my coffee and quit being a grumpy old man.

You???? Grumpy? ? nah.
