On March 31st I may or may not be listening to the game. On April Fools Day I'll be suffering through no game (day off already).
But on Saturday, April 2nd at about 3:30 pm (game starts at 4:10) I'll be in Section 420A, Row 1, Seat 18 (Grandstand behind home plate front row!) in Yankee Stadium, eating home made fried chicken, potato salad (made by my son's girlfriend - excellent potato salad!) with my son and her (she's never been to MLB game before), sipping on my first beer of the afternoon while enjoying the "pre-game" activities and whatever else they are showing on the megatron while listening to Suzyn Waldman over my a.m. radio interviewing Joe Girardi on their pre-game show before John Sterling ("the Voice of the NY Yankees") steps up to the microphone. At 4:08 I will be standing at my seat, hat in hand and over my heart while singing the National Anthem, warmly (possibly on my 2nd beer of the afternoon by then) anticipating the home plate umpire shouting, "PLAY BALL" and A.J. Burnette throwing the first strike of the game.
I'm not sure there is any more sensory input to be achieved at a game (wellllllll, maybe if I could have Cameron Diaz feed me popcorn and crackerjacks.... )
