Anybody trying this? I'm interested but I'd like to know some things about their service that they don't say up front. What format and bitrate is their streaming content? What kind of DRM is on the files if you choose to download instead of stream? If you download instead of stream, do you get a higher bitrate file? What resolution are the files in?

Services like this one will never take off, especially not at the price they want, until the content is at *LEAST* DVD quality, and really if they want a chance they will be striving for HDTV quality. It's pretty obvious they are focusing on PC-playback (their "PC to TV" page has nothing more than a few notes about piping your PC display out to your TV which has all sorts of problems) so I wonder if they're taking into account the fact that even low-resolution displays (800x600) are higher definition than DVD.

I have dreams of things like this working in the future but have a feeling that all the content on their site is probably 300kbps 320x240 video with stereo audio which is just NOT worth $30/mo.

Absolutely crap-licious. I signed up for the free subscription, which is exactly what it is... a subscription to the site. No free downloads and all the good movies are pay-per-view, which must cost more than just a regular movie because even something so crummy as "Warlock" still cost $2.99 to download or stream. I immediately cancelled my subscription 10 minutes after I signed up.

If you're still interested, the options are of 100K, 300K and 700K Windows Media format streams and downloads.

Ahh.. but it is free porn... LOL (not that the internet isnt chock full of free porn already)

They are simply stating the obvious. If you publicly communicate something, then its public.
