WOW, that's rare that a game company will let you have some of there old games. Even OLD system's not made anymore, C-64, Amiga, ect.. The company's will not let go of there old out of date games. I love GTA 1. Now I can play it at work.... when I should be working... Just don't tell anyone.. :)
 
Supposedly every 6-9 months they will be releasing another classic game to the library. One should be released soon.
 
It appears that they have just released GTA 2 on the website also.
 
Haha, I used to have all of these games but who knows where on my hard drive they are. When I get home, I'll have to pick some up. Thanks.

I believe what you see, is what you get. Just keep trying, eventually it should go through.
 
well, i am having connection refused trouble. anyone else having this ???

you can see the error message i keep getting. it just somehow managed to open the webpage once and now it won't even open the webpage. so i am just relying on the one page that opened somehow and i keep clicking on submit and i keep getting this connection refused error message.


any ideas?

I've been trying all afternoon and I get this:

Network Error
Unable to request URL from host 63.236.94.185:80: Operation timed out

On the original page there is this note:

Due to overwhelming response, we have had to limit the number of concurrent connections to our download server. If you receive an error page, please try again later.

They must be severely limiting access.

I think it is more like, they must be severely getting hit with people downloading. This freebie is posted everywhere, so there are probably alot of people trying to download.
 
Is it supposed to direct you to gametrailers.com? I can't get the download link.
 
Hey Guys,
I went to this link, and have also tried registering at the website. Everytime I try, I get a message box saying that it couldn't connect to the server. This probably is because too many people are sending requests to the server. Oh well. Maybe next time.
 
seems to me a lot of people like to play gta2. ican't get through to download. what's up?

It may be bogus .. e.g. just collecting email addresses for future contact. It almost never seems to find the server or it says that the address can't be verified. B-O-O-O-GUS!

I doubt this is bogus. I think I downloaded the original GTA off of this once when it was actually working, and it's from Rockstar, the original developer of the game. I doubt Rockstar would be scamming with their own game. :)
 
It isn't working for me either, but a couple of months ago I downloaded the Wild Metal game from them and it works.
 
I finally got a message other than the page not loading not that its much better
"Thank you for your interest in the Rockstar Classics Free Download Series.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing a high volume of downloads now and your information has not be collected.

Please try back another time."
