Ok, had one of these, and unplugged it this morning due to recall I saw in Consumer Reports:

Durabrand (Walmart) DVD players recalled: can overheat, posing fire risk.
Sold January 2006 through July 2009 for $29. Walmart has reports of 14 players overheating and 7 fires that damaged property. Stop using the player and return it to nearest Walmart for refund. Call 1-800-925-6278 or go to www.walmartstores.com for details.

oh...just another fyi. if you bring your receipt, you get full credit...otherwise, they are only issuing $20 refund. don't understand it, but that's how it is.
