Ok, I have been burning some DVD's for a friend. The problem is that he bought his DVD player years ago, and he really needs an upgrade to avoid skipping and overall quality. I told him that I could find him a nice name brand DVD player for under $50, but I seem to be having trouble finding him one. He doesn't need anything too high tech, as he does not have High Def or a quality surround system. I just need something that will give him a good base so he won't be dissapointed, nor nead an upgrade in a year or two..........

I should also clarify that this is for home use, not a computer DVD player that I am looking for......

If you have a Costco around you, I saw them selling a Toshiba Progressive nice model the other day for $49.99, I was surprised at that deal. Toshiba players are pretty good, and they're normally $60 or $70.

I can tell you that Philips Outlet is also a good place to find some name brand deals.

Overall, I think the Toshiba deal at Costco is a solid deal because you always have a place to return it to due to Costco's awesome return policy.
