I know how difficult it can be to "guesstimate" shipping for your ebay listings! If you are planning to list a number of items to make some money, I suggest investing a few dollars in a postal scale (you can find great deals on these right on ebay!). Then you just go to www.usps.com for the Post Office and just enter the weight of your package and the corresponding zip codes. THis has proved invaluable to me when listing on ebay so that I don't lose a lot of money by guessing. Hope this helps~Susanne :D

I second the postal scale. It gives you how much the item weights so you can get your guestaments closer to the real cost.

I bought my scale through eBay a couple of years ago for around 20 bux. It was well worth it. I use it all the time. Before I had it, I would have to guess and ended up paying out of pocket for the shipping.

iship.com but might be out of date.

Also, just how are you going to find out the cost if you don't know where your item is going?

Most sellers have an option on there auction so you can put in your zip code and it will tell you how much they will be charging for shipping to that address. If they don't have this enabled then the buyer needs to ask so they will know how much shipping will be.

I have a stamps.com account for wrok, and that is great, you can get a free 5 # scale, or a 25# one for just a little more, with my account I can do anything USPS, and FedEx, but it has a monthly fee of about $25, but if you don't need the FedEx, its just $15.99 a month (Or something close, and if you would use it enough, then it would pay for itself.

Yep, you can also add on to that. So they can make it actually shipping plus another $25 on top of that if they want to & when you use the calculator you don't know about that extra $25.
