Economy Care?

Simple, in order for the government to complete it's conversion of our economy to socialism, it must first force all private enterprise into failure, or near failure. Then the government will 'have no choice' but to take over, to "save the country". It's either that or a military takeover under martial law, and there are too many guns in private hands for that to work.

Advocate: "People act like forcing someone to get health insurance takes away their personal freedom of choice. It's the same as requiring someone to carry auto insurance."

Response: "That's not the same. If I don't want auto insurance, I can choose not to have a car. I can walk, bike, or take the bus."

Advocate: "If you don't have a car, you don't need insurance. It's the still the same thing. If you are alive, you need insurance. If you don't want insurance, stop being alive."

My question is, what happens if you can't afford to pay for mandatory health insurance? What's the penalty? Do you charge me a fine, put me in jail, or take away my health?

Don't worry, comrade. The glorious State will make the evil rich capitalists pay for your health insurance.

I don't have much to add, other than I really like this thread. Thanks!

You forgot to include all the other "living expenses"...

My worry is that at some point I'll be the evil rich capitalist paying for the poor lazy socialist's healthcare. I'm certainly not rich. I work hard, and I beleive I will get ahead. If I know that the government will just confiscate more of my income the more I make, then I might as well stop working hard. Great philosophy huh?

It's become the "American Way".......

Democrats: "We want to have a bipartisan dialogue about Health Care. We want the Republicans to be involved."

Republicans: "Ok, so tell us how to pay for this when the government is already broke?"

Democrats: "Well if you don't want to just agree with us, we'll just ram it through Congress anyway. We didn't say a bipartisan bill, we just wanted a bipartisan Health Care debate so we could fulfill Obama's campaign promise to broadcast something on Health Care. Nevermind that we made a bunch of backroom deals for the Unions. Now that we've had the debate, we really don't care what your ideas are. Who needs to pay for Health Care anyway? We'll just raise taxes. The first step is obviously to let the Bush tax cuts expire. That'll help pay for it, and we don't even have to vote on a tax increase! We are so smart. No American will be able to see through our foolproof plan. They're too dumb!"

Servant, others here will moan when they read this, because I've said it many times before.

Read "Atlas Shrugged".

I researched that book a while back based on the quote in your signature. I'll consider reading it.
