Entry Limit: One (1) entry per person/e-mail address per day per show episode during each day of the entry period.
For shows that are broadcast on Fridays during the entry period, you may enter either on that same Friday, the immediately following Saturday or the immediately following Sunday but no more than one entry for that Friday episode may be submitted.
Eligibility: Legal residents who are physically residing in one of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia (excluding residents of Puerto Rico), and Canada (excluding residents of Quebec) who are eighteen (18) years old and over (or the age of majority of their state or province of residence) as of the date of entry.

Important Additional Information:
Watch at least three (3) episodes of the show which are broadcast during the entry period and correctly answer at least three (3) of the show questions during the entry period. Following each broadcast, go to the entry form and fill in the following required fields:
(1) Correctly answer a question about the secret word incorporated into the episode of the show that was broadcast on the day you are entering (or if you are submitting an entry on a Saturday or Sunday during the entry period, the question will concern the episode of the show broadcast on the previous Friday);
(2) Complete the contest registration form by entering the following information: your name; address (P.O. boxes not accepted); telephone number with area code; alternate telephone number, if any, with area code; email address; and date of birth.
(3) Indicate that you have read and accept the Official Rules for this contest.
(4) Complete the essay question explaining why you should win the Prize. The essays will be judged using the following criteria: (i) the entrant’s expressed need for the prize (33 1/3%); (ii) the inspirational attitude exhibited by the entrant in the essay (33 1/3%); and (iii) entrant’s creativity in expressing herself/himself (33 1/3%).
(5) Upload a recent photo of yourself.
You will be disqualified if you do not fill in all the required fields.
Entrants must be available for a telephone call from a producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show during the week of January 3, 2012. Any eligible entrant who is not available during the week of January 3, 2012 for a telephone interview will be disqualified.
The Prize winner will be selected and announced on the web site on or before January 31, 2012.
