They basically are. I sure couldn't build one for anywhere near that price.

LOL why not? I have an old e-machines compuer at home (466 mhz!) and it still works perfectly fine. Nothing has ever happened to it. Plus, you cannot build a computer for that cheap of a price.

Good deal, I say.

With all the rebates ($380) + sign in/new acct bonus ($50), it comes to $229.97, doesn't it?

They work well as a home server. You connect it to the router and max out the hard drives inside as well as attach peripherial hard drives. Upgrade the DVD to a 16X burner the next time they are on $30 special. All in all a reliable configuration for the price.

Why not? Emachines was named the best of the prebuilt brands by PC Magazine last year. Less than 9% of the sales had a problem. Much better than their nearest competitor. (Dell which, I believe but i'm not certain, had 14%)

this is sold out..

not sure if all the rebates are valid if you purchase it in the store.. as some of them say .com rebates..

Hopefully they will work since I just placed the order. You gotta pay tax though :( oh well hopefully my mom will have a new PC for under 300 bucks :) Oh an I can even sell the printer, check out the ebay prices 5.00 ends in 1 hr and still no bids lol

Sold out in my area too. I'm wondering if the rebates will come too (.com). I may get the better one for a little more if I can still get the rebates. Called 1-888 number but Benjamin wasn't in the question answering mode. Called back again got him again and still not too happy I guess he had a bad night I think....

Plus tx on Total : $659.97, which is quite a bit in Calif.

Seems as if Emachines has a new manf if they are better machines than they used to be?

Must be now. I had the T1800 (and still do), but the only components from the original computer is the motherboard/processor. Otherwise, I've replaced everthing else as they have failed.

like someone said before for 250 its hard to build a full pc....i figure this will be better than moms NEC 350 P2 :)

By the way does anyone know the difference between the classic Centrino and the one offered on this pc the centrino D?

I have an emachine now and I just love it. I purchased it on one of these deals too. Only replaced hard drive so far and it was cheap.

Yea, the deal is awsome, but man that's a lot of rebates!

eMachines

eMachines has some great desktops. I've got a laptop for myself which I burned up the mobo, but got it repaired fairly easily (dealing with the BB crew wasn't too easy...) But my wife's desktop and the desktop I got to act as a PVR are doing great.

By the way, anyone want 4 or 5 printers? I've got some for real cheap. (ie. good luck in selling that Lexmark printer.)
