ink cartridges

The question is, are there affordable generic ink cartridges available for this printer? That always seems to be the question for me when I see a deal on a printer. For the current printer I have, I was able to find black ink for less than $1 each when purchased in bulk. Unfortunately, the mfg has discontinued my current printer and doesn't offer any that take this same cartridge -- so when it chokes, I'll be out of luck.

Sorry, not to get off topic -- does anyone know if this is a printer that has a reliable source for cheap ink cartridges?
