My brother has one similar to this and the best he could do with it was a couple of pieces from a canary pad. In order to do a regular sheet of paper, he has to tear it in half and feed it through piece by piece. Otherwise, it would jam. He said it's more of a "playpretty" for him than anything else. If you only have the occasional piece to shred, this might be for you.
 
for a serious paper shredder, you need household current. USB power just wont cut it (pun intended). more a toy than a useful appliance.
