(Expired) Bestbuy Will Have Nintendo Wiis in Stock on 12/21/07

Bestbuy's ad shows that on 12/21/07, each store will have a minimum of 21 per store. Most likely more depending on your location!

May possibly the last time you can get one without paying a premium before Christmas.

I looked it up and it seems like BestBuy opens at 10:00am. What time should I get there?
 
LOL, yeah that would work but kill my Saturday. Do you think 8:00am is too late?
 
I got my Wii at Best Buy no problem. They had plenty, this was about noon one time too. Though holiday season is going to make it rougher.
 
Some BJ's stores will have a Wii bundle that has two controllers, two nunchucks, Wii Sports and 3 games. For around $400. That could be a possibility too.
 
Before the holiday season started few if any people were waiting outside of stores anymore, though they still sell out fast. When I got my sisters wii in August, I was the only person who got to the store before they opened. However, there were several people who go to the store as they opened and the store sold out handful that arrived before I left. Conversely, last spring I got to the store 3 hours before they opened and there were about 20 people in front of me.

Considering that there are now many more people looking for holiday deals, there will be a number of people lining up before the stores open and will likely snatch up a Wii if they know that the store has them. But I dont think many people will get there too early. If you get to the store about 1 hr before they open then you should probably be safe.
 
A month ago my husband went into BB on a Friday nite and asked them if they had any WIIs. The girl said they just got them inand they were going on sale tomorrow. She then offered to sell him one right then without my hubby even asking!(LUCKY US!) Can't say it will work going tonite--but It may be worth a try.
 
I got mine one saturday night in september. I was there to buy a PSP. The Best Buy lady helping me was real nice, so we started chatting and I casually asked, "BTW, do you have any Wii in stock?" She said yes, and I got one. i went back two nights later to return some accessories, and saw a guy with 2 Wii's in his cart. I thought the shortage was over.....guess not.

I got my Wii at BB last year around this time. I got there on Sunday at 8:30am for a 10am opening. I was literally the last one to get one from the line. I think I was #22 or something. I would suggest 8am or earlier if you want to be guaranteed a chance to get one.

I just tried to goto a store here in Dallas and they said they sold out at 7:30am this morning. They were giving out vouchers. Called another store across town, same thing.

The irony is that the same people who stand in line to buy a Wii at 7:30 in the morning are usually the ones who can afford the extra $100 to buy one online but they just don't know it.

I called last night to confirm if they had any, but the csr told me to check the ad today that she couldn't tell me anything. But thanks to spoofee, I already saw the ad LOL
anyway, I got there at 8:30am this morning taking the adivce of another spoofee member and was number 10 in line to get my voucher. I didn't mind waiting 1 and 1/2 hours for my little girl to have a wii for christmas. It was kinda fun, everyone was joking and having a good time. I'll remember this christmas for a while, LOL
 
I got there about 7:50 this morning, and the line was already 45 long. By the time of the store's 10:00 opening, it was close to 100. The store had 75 units, so almost everybody who wanted one got one this time (some of the ~100 were couples and threesomes, and with a strict limit of 1 per person, there weren't actually a need for 100 units).

Judging from the cutoff point, you needed to be there by about 9 to get a Wii.


Thanks for the ad leak, Spoofee, and thanks to those who shared their experiences so I could plan when to get there.
 
First Post for me.... Love the site and now on to the bad news. I pulled into Best Buy at about 9:30 and there were about 20 some cars in the lot being it was single digit temps everybody was sitting in there car, I told my wife I was going to go stand in line, and as soon as I got to the door first in line everybody piled out of their car and raced across the lot. It was quite the sight to see that. After about 5 minutes a store employee came out and said they passed out tickets an hour earlier... Guess I need to get my butt out earlier in the am.

The BB by me (Downers Grove, IL) had people lined up at 1:00am and they handed out all the vouchers by 6:00am. Rough getting these Wii around here.
 
Papa, I heard it was rough. I was at TRU yesterday and asked the guy working there how it went and he said they got 31 consoles and sold them within 10 minutes.
 
Our BB was handing out tickets at 9 AM. They opened at 10 AM. I wonder how many people showed up for wiis. The store has had a sign up for the last week saying they were getting some in. It's odd that the BB employee mentioned earlier, would be all closed mouthed about them getting some in.
 
Is it the 16th or the 21st? The headline says one thing and the offer text another.
 
I have noticed that TRU and Target seem to get Wiis the same weekend as BB. KMart, Walmart, and CC seem to always be on their own schedule. I got one at target last Feb, and they came out about an hour before they opened to and out tickets and free coffee and hot chocolate.
