Shame on EA and DICE for making a game that will spy on your every move. The game features targeted adertising that monitors your browser history, Playtime, IP Address and sends the data off to a company called IGA. nowhere is this mentioned on the box, only on a little slip of paper in the box which means to read it you have to open it, and If you open it , you cannot return it.

Ohh and it requires you to uninstall a Windows Security update to run, Making your computer more INSECURE... DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Could it be true?

u must be kidding me ~
how could EA do that, i know my friends bought the game like an year or even 2 years ago

DAMN

can anybody confirm it ?

I've heard it before...

While I have heard that rumor, I believe it only monitors how long a player looks at the in-game advertisements. See the following links below:

Quickest explanation on softpedia.com

1up.com review

EA clarification on joystiq.com

Wiki addresses the issue (under 'Advertising Components, at the bottom)

As for the uninstallation of a microsoft security update...this is about as much as I have ever heard.

1up.com response to uninstalling windows update

Hope these help...I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I'd buy it if I had time to play it...a few signs or billboards in the game just give me one more thing to shoot at...not that I could hit them :teeth:

the point is though

they shouldn't be putting any of that crap on our computers to track us, they should pay a heafty fine

ingame advertisements arent anything new. when i quit counterstrike, they had just started putting ads in the servers/on the maps. on blank walls, they started to have ads. you figure people are spending a considerable amount of time in these "virtual" environments, it was just a matter of time before someone figured out how to make more money off of it

I checked my cc bill and it shows 21.75 for two items. They changed the price. Perhaps it was a pricing error or the sale was for a limited time, but I bought two for that price including tax and picked it up in person. great deal!
