I can empathize. They own their own payment system now too...that is a monopoly. People should be able to send and receive money however they wish.

I agree with Matt. I don't do EBay anymore either. Got ripped off for $1500 on a notebook computer and there was nothing I could do about it. I reported it to police, attorney general and EBay and all I got was "to bad". Would have cost me more then that to travel over half way across the country to take the bastard to court or hire someone to shoot the SOB.
Also, I was interested in a Bluetooth mouse and the seller wanted $30 shipping. Ridiculous!. There shipping charges are simply outrageous. I can do better shopping online at Amazon, Newegg, Buy.Com and a dozen other web sites.

A come on. How can you blame them? It keeps getting harder and harder for their enormous profits to keep going up if they don't raise fees on all us common folk!

I agree - ebay is getting a little ridiculous.:mmph:

Not only eBay, paypal...which is owned by them too. Paypal is charging same as eBay...so with a $500 sales, you get charged like almost $40 with eBay and Paypal. I used to sell with them quite often, but the profit is getting smaller and smaller...boooooo them. Let's create something like that...hahaha

Well...eBay could charge a little less but think about it...if you run your own physical store (limited exposure)...think about all the expenses you'll end up with...

aight...now speak...how much did eBay pay u to type this here??? :teeth:

I walways attempt to sell on Craigslist first if possible. Unfortunately, ebay even owns 25% of them.

They do soak you on fees (listing fees, final value fees, paypal fees...........), however I still make a pretty good profit selling home theater cables and misc stuff I buy on super sale and then re-sell for much more. I'd say after all is said and done (all fees, costs, etc) I make a 100% profit on most things I sell on ebay on a regular basis, if not more than that. Unfortunately, ebay is the only place I can sell the volume that I want to sell to make money.

So, bottom line for me is that, yes, I hate getting soaked by ebay, but at the same time I'm making a lot of very easy money.

Yeah they're fees are high......but I treat them just like I did
with the oil companies.....if you can't beat'em.....join'em......
just buy their stocks and you can share in their money......
I bought ebay in early 01 and it's done nicely.

I think ebay is more of for selling (to idiots) rather than for buying.
You buy something used off of ebay for almost twice as much as it would cost you to buy it brand new! I guess ebay executives noticed this and they want a slice of the pie.
