So the only thing this might be good for is the Smithsonian Affiliate Museums, and you might want to call those ahead of time to make sure they'll accept the coupon for free admission.

No, you go to find a venue and it lists all the museums it's good for. There were several in my area , some are $15 admission so this is a great post!!!

It is ok to check you are not a member/subscriber, I did and was able to print tickets
 
Yes, use the link to find venues close to you. I am going to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This usually costs $22.00!

figures out of the few we have in syracuse it is for the art museum.wish it was for the most..oh well...

That's exactly what I meant to do. Any Smithsonian museum has free admission every day... so there's no need for these coupons for those. If it's a affiliate Smithsonian it probably has charges and these coupons would be good for those. I only mentioned it because I grew up outside of Washington DC and all the Smithsonian muesums there are always free... if they're always free that's a good thing to know too.
