I just signed up for Carfax unlimited for 1 month.

Feel free to send me a VIN to the email address "request(at)spoofee.com"
and I'll email you back the carfax report ASAP.

Please keep this deal within Spoofee members so I don't get overloaded :)

Oooh! Oooh! I'll send you one tomorrow as I have a sneaking suspicion that my "Angelica" was in an accident before I became her owner. I'll be super-quiet about it...t h a n k y o u!

I'm not in the market for a car right now, but thanks for the offer! Very nice! :bigok:

I emailed you...thanks for offering this to us. I won't tell!;)

What a nice thing to do! I am not in the market either, but I am sure a lot of people here could really use this. :bigok:

When I was looking for a car earlier this year, I signed up for www.autocheck.com and their unlimited reports. After I ran 25 VIN's, they cut my account off. I emailed them asking why since it should be unlimited. They told me that it was limited to 25 reports because dealers sometimes sign up for the personal unlimited ones. I threatened to file complaints with the AG's office and the BBB and they promptly reinstated my account. They have since added this to the T&C:

Without limiting the foregoing definition, personal use of the service is defined to not ordinarily exceed 25 reports during any 60-day period from the date of purchase.

Carfax doesn't limit the reports, but you should read their T&C:

ANY COMMERCIAL USE OF CARFAX VEHICLE HISTORY REPORTS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND ANY SUSPECTED COMMERCIAL USE WILL LEAD TO THE SUSPENSION OF YOUR ACCOUNT, UNTIL YOU PROVIDE SUFFICIENT PROOF THAT YOUR USE IS PURELY PERSONAL; FAILURE TO DO SO PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT WILL RESULT IN THE DEACTIVATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT, WITHOUT REFUND AND MAY RESULT IN LEGAL ACTION. PROOF OF PERSONAL USE MAY INCLUDE; DETAILING HOW YOU ARE USING THE CARFAX ACCOUNT AND SPECIFIC EXAMPLES OF THE SITES OR LOCATIONS WHERE YOU ARE FINDING THE VEHICLES THAT ARE BEING OFFERED FOR SALE. THE DETERMINATION OF PERSONAL USE IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF CARFAX, INC. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO IMPOSE, AND YOU AGREE TO PAY TO CARFAX, INC., AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $24.99 FOR EACH CARFAX VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT THAT CARFAX, INC. DEEMS WAS ACCESSED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.

what excatly is carfax?

It's a paid service where you can look up a vehicle's history by VIN number, such as reported accidents, salvage, title changes, etc. Worth the $ if you are looking for a new car.

I agree! Very nice:) Thank you for offering this to us all!:) Just not in the market right now.:)

Did you guys know that accidents that take place in Illinois are not included in a Carfax report? It's true. Story here

Wow, that's not right!:mmph: I hope that Carfax is able to correct that.:)

We're all at risk because under Illinois law the State cannot reveal information contained in police reports about cars involved in accidents. However, that accident information is available in 39 other states to companies like CARFAX which sells vehicle history reports to consumers. CARFAX is now lobbying to change Illinois law.

I'm glad I moved to the other side of the river. Used to live in Illinois but now I reside in Missouri! Be careful out there on the roads, ellie!:)

We used Carfax ($19.99 for 30 days) on our last 2 car purchases. We will never buy another car without it! We found accident reports, found that one person was lying about being the original owner, checked 6 different vehicles from one dealership & found that they were all former salvage or rental cars (never look THERE again). All you need is the VIN #, which we were sometimes able to get from the windshield while the dealerships were closed (NO ANNOYING SALESMAN!!!).

It would be much too expensive to subscribe for a long period, so we didn't sign up until we were ready to shop seriously. $19.99 was a bargain compared to making payments on a piece of junk for 3-5 years!

Wow, great offer Spoofee, although I just purchased 10 reports myself about 2 days ago. Now if I could just win one of the vehicles on which I am bidding...

Many less than reputable dealers buy salvaged cars from auctions dirt cheap and then resell them. There are other dealers that do this as a profession and readily admit it. There is one place called Car Pros in Morresville (Race City USA near Charlotte) that does this. One of my coworkers got a rebuilt Beamer real cheap and it seems to be a good car.

I had a time where I was bidding around on ebay for a very long time (3-6 months), but I never won the car I like at the price I want.

Most or all of the auctions never hit the seller's reserve price.

What has worked is.. looking for an independent seller on ebay with auctions that hasn't hit reserve price and then emailing them personally with an offer.

In my case, I think the seller figured the highest bid on ebay was what the car was worth so when I offered a bit more, he took it. :)

Good luck with car shopping. It's fun!

I'd never buy a vehicle on eBay - not after seeing case after case involving eBay vehicles on The People's Court! LOL

I would love to have a report

tried the email and it came back failure.....

FYI, when buying a new or used car, DEMAND to see a carfax report. If they don't give you one, then they're trying to hide something. We ALWAYS get a carfax report before buying.

Great offer for those that already have cars purchased and need to do some snooping :)
