Target is doing a special promotion for their optical service. It could end anytime .but is definitely good thru April 29th.

Children 12 and under can get a free pair of glasses.

You need to bring a valid prescription for glasses from their doctor and Target will let the child pick from about 40 different frames. They will place their best lenses in the frames which are non-glare and scratch resistant and normally sell for $200.00. There are no income guidelines. ANY child 12 and under is eligible.

At least in Kansas City, this WAS a vaild offer, unfortunately, it ended March 31st.

I did some searching and it looks like this was done mainly in the Kansis City area only. Each participating Target had 150 frames to use and it began in March sometime and lasted until the frames ran out. Target consumer relations said it was a pilot program that is now over but that they gave out approx. 1,000 free glasses.

Darn, I really could have used this.

My area particpating Target explained that they were all poised and ready to go but just last week received word that Target had decided not to launch the program nationally after the initial pre-launch in Kansas City in March.

He did indicate they have a good kids program running (cannot remember what he called it) but the kids lenses are a flat $25 plus the cost of frames which he said start as low as $45. Good deal if you still need a pair of specs fo the kiddo!
